In no particular order.
Running game needs to be developed. OL, RB, playcalling, more play action… All of them? This team can go far if they can establish an effective running game. Might be Job One for McVay.
TE corps is being neglected. It has potential, of course, but potential doesn’t accomplish a damned thing unless the players are deployed, such as 12 sets, and USED. It’s been a perennial blind spot in McVay’s arsenal for years now. Let’s see some more Hopkins or Allen, dammit!
And finally, McVay has got to learn how to avoid tunnel vision when playcalling. His ignoring Thomas’ struggles was unforgivable. And where where was his wingman LaFleur during that fiasco? Taking a damned nap? Also unforgivable.
This O could be a top 5 unit IF McVay starts using all of his weapons efficiently. Hopefully, McVay will make appropriate adjustments before facing the Colts. The pieces are already in place on O, so it’s just a matter of using them properly.
