Outstanding post, Speed.
Love Sean McVay, but he does have the ghost of Martz in him. Lots of ego, and a manner that leads him to believe he either has all of the answers or he'll find the right one. Great qualities, but dangerous with an unchecked ego. I really felt he was slipping into Martz MaxQ- every play needs to be completed at the highest level of execution, and a stubbornness that refused to deviate from the plan regardless of the outcome. This, to me, was verified by his word salad press release, and the need of Snead to come in and smooth it over.
He's still a pup. Just married, with a kid on the way. Sean has a lot of growing to do. But he has to learn quick, because he's going to burn through this team if he doesn't. Stafford sure won't make past many more like Monday, and our new star Puka won't last long either. I worry about the fulcrum of our expectations on Kupp when he returns. Sean needs to guide these guys and not let himself get in the way like Monday.
