It's going to be a priority for them going forward, no doubt about it.
But that aside one good thing here is that even with a weak pass rush our secondary played well. That is a significantly better indicator than what we had at any point last season. Our average passer rating against was around 90 last season, and in yesterday's game we came in a bit lower. So lots of good from that game.
SF is going to be a similar gameplan in terms of needing to limit that run game to keep third down conversions in check. But one difference we should see this year is better coverage underneath. SF should have fewer quick options in the pass game. Of course Shanny is the best at what he does but what happens to his young QB if coverages are good and he has to hold on to it a bit. Hope we get to find that out, because that's the path to victory for us in this one.
