Here’s Oldnotdead…
IMO this could signal a shift in scheme away from their customary Tampa Two zone scheme ....
I stopped reading part way thru the first line, cuz even I know the Rams don't run a Tampa Two zone scheme.
And while it's true that Morris has been exposed to the Tampa 2 a lot in his career and probably
could run that defense, he has run the Fangio defense both of his seasons as the Rams' DC (
as per McVay's request).
I always thought it was an order from McVay that Morris HAD to run the Fangio scheme not a "request". I think the Fangio "scheme" was more important to McVay than the person who would run it even if it was the waterboy!
McVay was determined that if he couldn't "have" Fangio himself, he would then steal the Fangio "system" instead.
Fangio was the priority one for McVay but he missed out...twice.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
