FWIW, Gaines has a 1-year, $3.5M deal with the Bucs. It's structured so he counts $1.6M against this year's cap and then next year - after he's gone - he'll count $1.9M against the Bucs' cap as dead money.

Was it really worth letting Gaines go for that little bit of money? Of course not, unless...winning games isn't the number one priority. And IMO, it isn't.
Getting ready for 2024-25 IS the number one priority. It's obvious and the Rams aren't exactly being shy about it. Oh, they'll tell you, "we want to win this year" but based on the decimation of the defense, I get a different impression.
Of course the players will give 100% and the coaches will all give 100% but it really doesn't matter much if you just don't have the horses to run the race.
You can coach a turtle to be fast with everything you have but guess what...it's still gonna be a slow turtle.
There's only so much you can do with lesser talent and we now have a less talented defense no matter how you slice it.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
