I do recall that one of the reasons Georgia hired Knox in 1992 where John Shaw wanted her to hire Mike Holmgren was Georgia said "Carroll always felt he made a mistake in letting Chuck Knox go." I believe it was mutual, but after the Allen debacle and then giving the job to Malavasi I am sure CR wish he had just kept Knox. Although Fred Dryer did say that Knox would never deviate his game plan come post season, just stuck with what they did during the regular season and teams were prepared for them, whereas with Ray (Malavasi) we knew he would try other things.
