So, what will Mike's duties be? What we've read this offseason has to do with installing McVay's offense, etc.
Will he carry the clipboard or tablet on game days, be the pullback guy on the sidelines, say programmed or predictable things at press conferences, run some drills at practice, what? Other offensive coordinators coordinate the offense.
Pardon my snark. But my sense is that McVay's tendency to overcontrol and underdelegate is a potential stumbling block for him while running the team while maintaining peak personal effeciency. Carrying too big a load, for any administrator, leads to burnout. Prolonged stress (from not delegating) erodes the fresh, sharp, objective judgement needed for peak performance. I'm not down on him, I wish him the best - he's a good man and a great coach.
But I'd still like to know what an offensive coordinator working under McVay does - other than leave after a short stay. Does this one "do anything" different from his predecessor? And what did he do?
