Could be wrong, but I think it was our former Oline coach. The guy McVay let go at the end of the season, some of the scuttlebutt being the frequency of the type of injuries that show up from poor coaching. Maybe Bruss was a harbinger. We had quite a few guys go down.
Whoever the pool jumper was, it was the guy who lobbied long and hard for Bruss. Got what he wanted, jumped in the pool. I remember the tape, but don't remember for sure who it was, but remember reports that he pestered Snead and company to get him. Ker-splash. Hope it wasn't the sound of the baby and the bathwater and that Bruss survives.
