To what extent they can get production from the Edge and consistency at CB will determine a lot for them. I think it has to start up front. Pressure can cover up for a lot of other defensive shortcomings.
It can work both ways. Good coverage can also give that pass rush an extra second or two to get to the QB but of course that works better using tighter coverage. 8-10 yard cushions negate the pass rush.
IMO, we are in need of a scheme change. Let's not play scared anymore. Let these kids prove themselves. Playing Prevent as your "Base Defense" won't cut it.
This is a rebuilding year anyway, our DC needs to put on his big boy panties and come up with something better. The only thing a "Prevent Defense" will do is "prevent" us from properly evaluating and developing our new guys!
IMO, the fast we can "weed out" the trash, the faster we will be rebuilt!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
