The Rams have invest a ton just to get Stafford. They just signed him to a huge contract. He is basically untradable due to all the signing bonus money that would accelerate into the current year. McVay Loves him. He won a Super Bowl.
The Baker to TB tells us nothing about Stafford. If Baker resigned with the Rams it would tell us nothing about Stafford. Stafford baring some sort of a disaster of some sort will be our QB for at least another 2 years and probably longer than that.
It wasn't too long ago that people were questioning whether or not Stafford was done from last seasons injuries. They were legit questions regardless of the cap implications.
He Stafford couldn't play we would have had to have a backup plan anyway. I still say Stafford wasn't as badly injured as we were led to believe last year.
IMO, those injury updates were to "justify" sitting a player that probably could've played.
So, if the Rams were really worried about Stafford returning, they would've found a way to keep Baker since McVay loves him. Baker took $4 mil + incentives to play for a "lesser" HC, so I think he might have taken less to be here IF he knew that there was a good chance of Stafford not playing again.
IMO, Baker knew the injuries to Stafford were not the career threatening type and would therefore be playing for at least one more year. Baker was up close and personal with what was going on with Stafford and his injuries. He knew the "truth" unlike us who were led to believe Stafford's injuries were life threatening. lol
Maybe that's why Baker only signed a one year deal?
I guess it just tells me Stafford is going to be ok and Baker knew that too.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
