Maybe 8.5 million is a lot of cap room for the RAMS right now and Stafford will probably be with the RAMS through 2025 because of the amount of dead money moving/cutting him would incur. So maybe the RAMS have there eye on a QB they think will be there in the second round. Just saying, stranger things have happened (like the guys we have had as back up QB's to this point).
