How hard will it be to teach someone how to play in a Prevent defense??? "Just line up 10 yards off the LOS and keep everything in front of you son, and you will be fine!" lol
Strangely enough, Morris staying is likely a positive for the team. With the mishmash of youth and castoffs that our defense is likely to be, having the continuity of our DC is a good thing.
However, those of us crying for something different this year on D are probably going to be disappointed. With so much turnover how can we play anything besides prevent?
We will see if the continuity pays off. Keep in mind there are several new coaches on that staff with Morris now too. So it's not 100% continuity.
My question is will Morris be able to scheme these players to their talent or force them to play in a scheme that might not fit them?
Based on what I have seen from Morris so far, his creativity hasn't been his "strong suit" IMO. If you are gifted 3 HOF'ers and the BEST you can do is play prevent 95% of the time and then only be a middle of the pack defense too, says to me that Morris is a "middle of the pack" DC and we might be in trouble if Morris has even less talent to work with.
So, what we need from Morris this year IMO, is above average "creativity" and above average ability to "develop" lesser talent. Does anyone really feel confident Morris can do that?
I don't and I am his biggest fan! I use Charmin everyday!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
