Ridgewood Ram
Great tackler, not a great cover guy anymore.
Morris seemed to disagree.
He had Ramsey "covering" everyone from the FB to TE to RB to WR'S #1,2,3 and 4. I think he even covered the QB sometimes! That's a lot of "covering" for someone who isn't a good cover guy anymore.
IMO, putting Ramsey in the "Star" as much as we did, weakened the back end of the defense exposing some of the lesser talent's weaknesses.
Why put your best All Pro HOF CB on a RB or TE when you are "lacking" talent at CB already?
Maybe, if Morris would have spent as much time figuring out how to use "ALL" the players on D, not just Ramsey, maybe he could have come up something better than the Charmin Shell as his base defense...or maybe not.
Ramsey has lost a "step" no doubt but he is still a Top 10 CB who can still make an impact.
Having said that, I am ok with Ramsey leaving. I am not sure we need an All Pro to make our glorified Prevent Defense work anyway. We can still maintain our lofty status as a Top 15 defense with lesser talent, can't we?
How hard will it be to teach someone how to play in a Prevent defense??? "Just line up 10 yards off the LOS and keep everything in front of you son, and you will be fine!" lol
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
