But I'm willing to bet that most of the teams above has had much better secondaries lol. I use the example of the eagles in the 49ers. There was a threat on this board speaking about how we should play more like them but look at the amount of near pro bowl level players that are in their secondary. And I know we had three Hall of famers on our defense but they were on three different levels of the defense. And that means that they could be attacked on all three levels of the defense because, outside of those three Hall of famers, there was absolutely no one to be afraid of.
always the claims, never the proof. And again, people claiming they don't think Morris needed to play it this way or that way...and then admitting, "hey,
it's just a message board, we get to say what we want. . . . we don't need no stinking proof."
The irony is these people think they are superior to Morris. That they know better. That they are in any kind of position to question his stones, smarts, courage.
Then whine when called out.
Bottom line is, and always has been . . . there are different ways to play defense but what
matters most is winning and how to win is by preventing points and preventing points
comes from being efficient in stopping the run and pass, and getting after QB . . .
and when defense was healthy, Rams won a Super Bowl.
Spags ran an aggressive defense, many idiot fans got after him for being too aggressive
right up to the time he won a Super Bowl.
And over the last 2 years, Rams defense, overall better than Chiefs and each have
a ring.
And Chiefs have a mentally stable head coach, Rams had a smart coach who had
some personal issues and it probably affected the team.
It does not matter if someone thinks Morris does not need to play the way he does. It is
just fans whining about things.
It's about agenda---and the will be no "looking up" of anything. It will be "it's an internet board
no one needs to prove proof, no one wins for being right".
But fairness should always be part of evaluating Morris. And to some, fairness never existed for him.
