I would have to look that up RR but we weren't ranked #1 so that means there were some teams above us. How many of those teams with "less talent" ran an Ultra Soft Zone as much as us? 0. As 43 said. We ran the MOST.
Maybe a better/easier question would be, how many other teams had 3 HOF'ers on the same unit and played as much Ultra Soft Shell as us...and how many teams without 3 HOF'ers ranked higher than us?
I get what then Ultra Soft Shell is supposed to do and it DID do just that. It prevented explosive plays but I just can't shake the fact that we had 3 HOF'ers on the same unit. I mean, how often does that happen? Think about that.
To have those HOF'ers and the "best" you can come up with is a "prevent defense" sounds to me like our coordinator might the best at using that talent.
Shouldn't having a HOF'er at each level make up for some of that "lesser" talent talent Morris is afraid will get beat? If so, and if it did, imagine how bad we would've been without a HOF'er at EACH level.
Well, this year, Morris is now down to 2 HOF'ers. Does that mean we will have "LESS" talent this year on defense? My goodness, if Morris can only "scheme" a Prevent defense with 3 HOF'ers, what will he have in store for us with only 2 HOF'er? Maybe only one HOF'er if Ramsey leaves.
I am hoping the new assistant coaches will help Morris be able to be a little more creative than running a Prevent defense as the main defense. They come in with good creds and reps so there is hope. My fingers are crossed!
