I don't want to kick him on his way out the door at all. Wagner was good. Very good. One of the top ILB in the league. Really.
But when your defense can't rush the passer and you're behind in most games it's true that the "impact" of a run-defending ILB in today's NFL is going to be limited.
If Wagner was on the 2021 team? He probably would have received a couple DPOY votes.
