AD's "pressure" rate was lower than usual. The article did mention the missed games.
As for no other consistent threat, he has 2 other HOF players on his side of the ball. How many other teams can say that?
If there was no other "threat" alongside him, maybe a more creativity from our DC could have helped AD get more sacks and pressures? I know there is a lack of talent on the back end but having a HOF'er at LB and a HOF'er at CB surely should be enough to cover up some of that "lack of talent"?
IMO, and I know you and some others might not agree (and that's ok), by using that glorified "Prevent" defense 95% of the time tells me that our DC might not have had any other ideas on what to do. I said it before and I will keep saying it. lol You have 3 HOF'ers on the same unit and the best you can come up with is a "Prevent" Defense???
Unless McVay "handcuffed" Morris to only using that Shell D and wouldn't let him deviate from it, which I doubt, I come away unimpressed with what Morris did with those 3 HOF'ers.
If you have 3 HOF'ers on you unit, shouldn't anything less than a Top 5 unit be a disappointment? I think we did well but underachieved at the same time.
I'll ask you this and if your answer is against my expectation then I'll concede. How many premiere pass rushers don't have another threat alongside them on the line? Bosa isn't doing it alone. The chargers had the other bosa and still went and got mack. The eagles added Robert Quinn despite having so much talent. Dolphins added Chubb despite having jaelyn Phillips. Broncos added randy Gregory to go with Chubb. Add to the fact, Donald is 32 years old and plays on the interior.
I know you keep saying that the scheme hampered the hall of Fame players but I always respond with "why didn't it hamper them last year?". Even before Von Miller got here last year, Donald was dominating and our defensive line was getting pressure. So if scheme is the issue then why was Donald so elite in 2021?
