In recent years the Rams seem to plug their holes with serviceable players before the draft. Then the draft is all about upgrading certain positions rather than drafting for need in an area where they have no one.

So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if the Rams signed both an OL and an edge before the draft and allowed themselves to pick a premier player who falls to 36 rather than being forced to fill a glaring need.
