Okay, this has to be quick- I'm at work and only usually get to read posts without being able to respond due to work. Here is my question without any stats to back it up.
I have read about the defenses and lack of sacks in yesterday's game. Like most of you, I watched every second of the game and like most superbowl games, I noticed very few flags were thrown by officials. I do not recall one Offensive holding call on either team. I cannot recall any game this year where there were no offensive holding calls against either OL. I do not recall many (except the one at end of game) of defensive holding. I believe there were two illegal procedure calls and one or two offsides. Maybe my numbers are wrong, but it seems that offensive lines are at a huge advantage in superbowls because they never call offensive holding very often. Dbs have an advantage to grab and hold on both teams to slow routes. While Bradburry admitted to the hold, there were many instances a penalty could have or should have been called. The reason that penalty had such a huge impact, is because other penalties were not called. OL holding could be called on any pass play in a game. Both DLs (1st and 2nd in sacks) were not allowed to impact the game. We have seen AD suffer under those circumstances many times.
I guess my question is Do you think Super Bowl games should be called like all other games or should refs not make the usual calls?
