chico n da rams
43, as much as I love your posts, I gotta disagree. Even on his worst day, Saffold does not get pushed into the backfield. Havs does.
I don't disagree with your opinion on the need for an edge, or corner, but I think you can improve what we have by making Donald more effective. What I mean by that, is moving our corners closer to the LOS, and hopefully taking away the short underneath passing, A.k.a. the death by 1000 cuts that Morris seems to champion.
Prioritizing the offensive side of the ball (Oline specific), and restoring our offense to its former glory, takes a lot of pressure off the defense, and makes them even more effective. Even with the shortcomings in our secondary and edge positions.
What I'd like to see the Rams oline become is more like the Eagles, on third or fourth down, and one yard to go. They're going to push you back, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. That's what we need. Everything else, IMO, is academic.
If they would be interested in bringing back Saffold, I sure wouldn't mind. He isn't the same player he used to be but he is still miles ahead of what we have now.
I also agree with you plan to "make AD more effective". Moving the corners closer to the LOS sure would help, wouldn't it? We've been dying by "a 1000 deaths" for two years now but unfortunately, I don't see Morris doing what you suggest. I would be happy id he only did it a few more times every game. No need to desert the ultra soft zone completely IMO.
How about that Eagles OL? Big, Strong, physical. I love it! I am all for it! Let's make it happen brother!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
