First, it could well be that McVay has a few coaches already sewn up but doesn’t want to announce until everybody is onboard. I’m actually betting that this is the case.
Second, we already know that his hands are tied regarding Morris until Morris’ fate is determined. McVay may well have good insider info on this. And is getting his ducks in a row behind the scenes.
I’m reminded of the allegory of the duck swimming on the pond. On the surface all seems calm and serene but under the surface that duck is paddling furiously. I’m guessing that McVay is paddling furiously right now. Lol.
