He is the best thing to ever happen to the Rams. I love the guy, massive respect for what he has done for the Franchise.
What I don't accept is this wishy-washy way of doing things, the reason is that the NFL is a business about winning and his having one foot out the door all the time puts the team at a huge disadvantage.
Coaches will be gone, the best assistants will be gone...the best FA's both with the Rams and on the market aren't going to a team in flux at the top.
What he is doing is fine if he wants to walk away then just do it so the Rams can get back to fixing the team with or without him, dragging it out just cant be an option. If they allow that they might be ruining next season before it even starts. This team needs a dedicated, invested HC leading them this offseason....if its McVay we are all lucky to have him....if not then just go Coach.
I don't think he plans on taking weeks or months to decide so it's not quite dragging it out at this point....McVay is showing his vulnerabilities which is hard for anyone to do, to do it on such a huge stage takes courage, self awareness and honesty.
Rams and the fans should respect it, not reject it even as hard as it is for us to understand
