Don't you think in the back of your head it would set back the Rams even further?
Who wants to be the "one and done" interim head coach?
What assistants want to work in that environment?
What free agent wants to come play for the coach that "might" come back after recharging his batteries?
How do season ticket holders feel about Stan agreeing to write off 2023 so his wunderkind can relax? This ticket holder woudn't be happy.
I guess I'm just not one of those peeps that's in the camp of "hey we won the SB, if we suck for a few years now that's okay", not saying you are mind you. If Sean wants to coach great, if not we can thank him for his efforts and find someone who does.
Personally, (if I can put my tinfoil hat on) I think Stan told his leaders he wanted the Rams playing in the SB hosted at SOFI and attempt to make it happen at all costs. I believe they sold out long term, consistent success to "win now" and make that happen. Now it's rebuilding time and I don't think Sean wants anything to do with it. I'll be the first to say it (at least I think I'm the first). Stafford/AD/Ramsey will all be gone after next season. AD might not come back at all.
That's my nickle.
