"If MJD had a good argument, I would say so. But he has a bad one."

I doubt Drew would consider what he reported as an "argument'. I don't think we can take someone's opinion given what someone reported to him as an "argument". To me that's an unnecessary leap. Now if he was face to face with you ZN and it was a real debate he might back up his "argument" or he might not be able to. But sans that we simply have a casual statement about what someone said to him and then an unending debate over the use of one word.

In that light I'm more concerned with how the tailback is able to handle whatever physical impairments he does have. Whether or not it arose from an traumatically caused "injury" or occasional flareups is no matter to me. If indeed Ram management is guilty of violating reporting rules the NFL will take care of that. However, they most certainly won't base it on the casual statement by MJD.

That's semantics my friend. The "argument from authority" thing is not aimed at MJD, it's aimed at anyone who claims that BECAUSE he's MJD it can't be dismissed. (Not clear how you missed that. MJD is not making an "argument from authority," some posters are. They're saying BECAUSE it's MJD I can't question what he says. Nonsense.) As for MJD, his claims don't hold up. That's all it is. AND just the fact that he's a media name does NOT make those claims valid. In fact on the surface alone there are multiple things wrong with the claims he makes.

MJD (and I watched his vid before this became an issue here) directly said that TG injured himself in some kind of collision or impact in game 1. He means injured, injured. In fact he had the injury, according to MJD, all season. All season. Unreported, untreated KNEE injury all season. You better hope that neither the Rams nor Gurley would do something like that.

If he had an injury of that kind it did not get reported or treated and he played with it. That would have been stupid of Gurley (and that's not like him) and it would have been stupid of the Rams (and that's not like them either).

You should be more concerned that a claim like that is openly absurd. I have no idea why you would defend him saying that when if what he says were true, it would be a very bad thing. For Gurley, for the team, for the Rams organization. It would be a bad thing to do (to play injured and not report an injury on top of it) AND point to both bad judgement and a pretty much unethical negligence.

I think what DOES add up is that what he has some kind of condition that flares up and then calms down, like arthritis. That CAN be handled, dealt with, managed, and so on. Players have done it before. Faulk did it for a few years, in fact.

Here is Vinny Bonsignore on all this, from today:

Quote

I’d be surprised if Todd was on the field in minicamp. I do believe there is some sort of condition that Todd is dealing with in the left knee, something that needs to be managed. And that certainly sounds like it could be some level of arthritis. But the hope is they have a plan to manage it to help get him through the season.
