And if it did come to that, and AD did demand a trade, the only way AD would be off the field is if the Rams refused to trade him. So I think you missed the point on that. I really doubt the Rams would refuse to trade him. That would put them in the position of keeping a league star of AD's stature out of football (very bad PR and very bad for team morale) while getting nothing for him on top of it.
Besides you seem to be making the completely unwarranted assumption that AD would be turning down valid offers.
Since we actually and really and genuinely don't KNOW what the offers and demands are, we have no basis for that assumption.
It could be, for all we know, that the Rams are not making a sufficient offer and AD has no choice but to demand a trade instead of just passively accepting a tag amount that would be anywhere from only 60% to 66% of his actual market worth.
We don't know which story is true. It could be both stories are true for all we know.
