Disregarding the possibility of any player, to include even AD, pricing himself off of a roster while not knowing what his demands are is what you call assumption. It is possible he does just that and we can't rule it out because to this point we don't know.
What we DO know is the following:
1. Demoff hasn't signed an elite player yet.
2. Demoff has his work cut out for him with multiple huge signings pending over this year through the next couple.
He is definitely up to bat.
We know what the 2nd contract market is for players at certain positions ... or in Donald's case, his position being among the best defenders (2nd contracts are very regular that way). So do agents. Name the last time a player asked way in excess of that market when they were up? Therefore I just don't see any basis for people suggesting that the issue is AD asking too much. The issue, IMO, is much more likely to be AD asking the right amount and the Rams coming up short. But of course no one knows if it's that, either.
I agree that KD is up to bat but there is also a mixed history before now.
If however they sign at least Donald and Cooks, I will be fine with things.
....
You don’t see the issue as possibly AD asking too much? Really? Negotiations have been going on for a year and a half, but AD couldn’t be asking too much? Or demanding some kind of poison pill clause?
Nope, AD is asking the right amount but the Rams are “lowballing”?
Don’t you see your bias when it’s printed right there in front of you?
