First it's great to see that Goff has confidence...and gives all these guys chances. Second....they are all trying to step up and seize the moment. I love seeing that.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Last week JFM stepped it up. This week Ebukam became a stud. Competition is a beautiful thing. Now....can Obo raise the ante?by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Reynolds can go up and get it. This Rams team has been badly lacking a WR or TE that can win the jump ball. Would love to see more of those from Reynolds.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
They are late getting to their bye, and will have essentially run the guantlet portion of their schedule by then. They will come out of the bye well-rested. They get Talib back. He will neutralize the opponents #1 defender.....and Peters moves back to taking on the #2 receiver. By December 9th they will have 4+ weeks of having Fowler and Obo on the roster (by the way....you think that Jonathaby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Brees had enough time to do his taxes on pass plays today...I'm talking the full 1040A, with Schedule A itemization (not the quick 1040EZ). When a QB as talented as Brees has that kind of time, it's almost unfair. Hopefully someone can lay out a blueprint on how to get pressure on him before the season is over. The Rams sure couldn't with their plan.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Not talking about the facemask at the end of the game. That one was a penalty (although you often don't see Refs call those at the pivotal moments in the end of the game). But throughout the game, the Steelers were not converting on 3rd downs....but getting drives extended thanks to several questionable calls by the Refs. The Steelers are just one of those franchises that always seem to get caby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
They are three games out with six to play....and the division leader Redskins just lost their starting QB for the season. The division winner in this conference could be 8-8. So they Giants might be able to still lose one more game and still win the division (if they win the tie breakers). However, they are already 0-3 in the division so they chance of them winning the division tie breaker isby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
The delay screen to either Hill or Hunt, where Mahomes just moves around enough to buy that extra few seconds, then tosses it 10 yards to Hill/Hunt in the flat who weave through traffic and take it to the house. The Rams D line is best when it is aggressive and surging forward. However, they have a propensity for giving up big gains on these types of plays. KC will take advantage of this aggreby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I wasn't trying to pitch Rodgers as "lousy". In fact I started the last post by saying he was a good QB. I will even acknowledge that he is at least a very good QB. However the way the sports press fawns over him as if he is the second coming is inconsistent with what my eyes see. When he is able to pull off a comeback win, he is interviewed everywhere talking about how he executedby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Is he good QB? Yes. But he only needed two yards.....repeat....two yards.....to get another first down when the game was on the line. And....what happened? In the post-game interview he said the "ball got stuck in my hands". Vintage Aaron Rodgers.....NOTHING IS EVER HIS FAULT. It's always someone else's fault.....or, in this case, it was the ball's fault for being stuck in his magby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
It's a fair question. Kupp was widely known as Goffs safety blanket. Maybe Goff has grown to a point where he no longer needs a safety blanket. If he can help elevate Reynolds, Everett, Higgins or Cooper....that will say a lot All these guys know Kupp is not returning. Opportunity knocks for someone....and Goff can help them answer. Which sort of says this is a huge growth opportunity fby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Kirwin has never been a Rams apologist. But he is fairly good at analyzing trends and data. He acknowledges the Rams D isn't strong vs the run. But after this week they will have most of the strong running game teams behind then...Chargers, Vikings, Seahawks twice, Saints, Chiefs. Moving forward, he thinks the Rams defense has much more favorable matchups with teams that just are not runninby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
While he was out for a few weeks you started to see Reynolds grow. Even Higbee seemed to step up a bit (minus the dropped TD vs Saints...but Kupp was back at that point). Under the prior Kupp injury it was always known that Kupp was coming back. This time.....Reynolds, and the TE's will be expected to step up and fill a void heading into the playoffs. For that matter.....with Kupp likely beby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
After watching the how the Packers then the Saints wrap up and finish tackles....it is maddening to watch the first Ram defender bounce off the ball carrier. All the schemes that Wade has in his back pocket mean nothing if they can't execute the fundamentals of a tackle.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Donald's constant presence in the backfied (which will hopefuly be complemented with Fowler and Obo).......begs the Rams DB's to press and play bump and run. Opposing QB's need to be (and are) getting rid of the ball quickly. They don't have the luxury of time. If the Ram DB's can effectively jam the WR's....the QB will need more time for a play to develop. But Hill and Peters just aren't biby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Too often this defense is too slow to make adjustments. Too many examples of waiting until the second half. Against a team like the Saints.....you are in too deep a hole to make up the difference. Then...in crunch time....a mental breakdown to leave Peters (who was already struggling mightily) on single protection against Thomas. Not to mention that the coverage call got in too late....so Peteby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

I've been saying it for weeks. Wade just ain't getting it done. But what will McVay do? He has set the precedent that Wade is an unchallengable Defensive Genius. This is where McVay needs to do some growing as a coach and step in .by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
One of the "behind the scenes" discussion on the Rams asked the question on why Joyner seems absent this year. Demarco Farr said it's because he is doing exactly what the team and scheme is telling him to do. The scheme calls for Johnson to be the more attacking safety and Joyner is supposed to be the safety valve. He went on to say the real reason why Joyner doesn't get in on more pby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
He is deceptively quick and fast. There's lots of attention on Kupp (with his first game back) and Cooks (returns to play the team that drafted him). But I think it's Woods who has a monster game. Get him on turf in the dome....and he can be a freak. I also would expect Jo Jo to do the same on punt returns. He should be able to flip the field with Heckerby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
The games against the Seahawks and Broncos were in less than desirable conditions. Then no Kupp vs 49ers and Packers. Even better, Reynolds has built Some solid playing experience and lots of confidence. The Rams offense was clicking against Minnesota. No reason why they can't do the same on a fast carpet in the dome. I think you will see Goff gone wild. Hard to say that he will dropby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
That might be a fair point. I know you want to win every game you are playing.....but McVay might be treating it as a marathon.......not a sprint. Perhaps it's worth taking the risk to 'dumb it down" ....hoping you can squeak by Green Bay at home......so you can unload some of the artillery in New Orleans next week when you might really need it. In the end....it did take a never-seen-by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
The Bronco's weren't always in a Nickel or Dime.....but they held the LB's back to protect their zone. The Bronco's were begging the Rams to run. They held the Rams to 23 points (although honestly probably would have been more if the Rams weren't up by 10 points in the 4th quarter...where they were trying to eat clock). So I fully expected every team to do the same thing. The 49ers didn't....by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Reynolds got some good experience making clutch plays.....and built confidence, while the Rams did not lose any ground. And now Kupp can come back healthy. I'm not as high on Reynolds as I was at the beginning of the year. He has some growing to do to get to the point where he can be a difference maker. But I still see him getting to the point where he can help this team in the Red Zone.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Jags needed an RB with Fournette looking to be out for a while. They already got Hyde for a fifth pick. Rams RB stable looks great....but a bit jammed with Davis/Kelly being inactive every week.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
If you consider it in an unbiased manner. A 6-1 team at home....with a strong historical record at home should not be taking points....even against an 8-0 team.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Higbee looks like a bull coming around the edge snorting smoke. Watch the DB.....he wants no part of Higbee.....and does the turtle. I guess Higbee does have a reputation of being a pretty good blocker.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
