It's only two games in. Since Goff didn't get much (or any) work in the preseason games.....maybe McVay just figured to continue let him get some rhythm. However, the concern of getting injured during meaningless minutes should still be there. McVay gave Gurley some rest, when Gurley was performing like he was in mid-season form. Hopefully, he will give Goff the same in the upcoming games.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
All that talent at the skill positions: OBJ, Ingram, and Barkley....yet opposing defense is in the backfield on EVERY play. Their fans are hoping the O-line will "gel" at some point. But.....any team that insists on continuing to play Flowers has some serious O-line problems.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the phrase I used recently is that the Rams get constipated in the Red Zone. I cited the lack of a tall, athletic big/strong WR or TE as one of the key factors. Between Kupp and Cooks they have the reliable pass catchers, but neither have the combined height and leaping ability for the "jump ball". I am hoping that Speed is correct that the Rams intentionally didn't target anby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
I am all in on Goff and the Rams being able to move the ball much better in the open field. The improvements with the starters and depth on the O-line and the addition of Cooks at WR will make it so. Therefore, 5000 yards is possible. I think 4500 is more likely. However, the lack of playmaker TE (or a freakish tall WR) who can go up and grab the "jump ball" in the end zone is goiby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

Not every team has the luxury of the elite QB to take advantage of all the new rules (roughing, spearing, helmet-to-helmet). My guess is that if you looked at the stats of Brady, Rodgers, Ryan (who are in most peoples' "elite QB conversation") their % of passes to WR/TE is higher than the rest of the league....and probably much higher than the QB's that play for the bottom 15 teams inby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
The rules have changed to make this an unabashed passing league. The value of the QB in the NFL has gone up tremendously in the last ten years.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
After seeing the reports coming out of KC about Sammy Watkins....the indescribable problem seems to continue. He should have been productive....but just wasn't. He got all the credit for being a decoy. Cooks is just going to flat out produce. No excuses from this guy....just numbers. Then when you see the rest of the Rams receivers numbers escalate this season.....all the talk will be abouby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
OK. That's probably fair. However, I view their offense as being more successfully unpredictable (and well-disguised) rather than uptempo. I just remember being perplexed at how ordinary the offense became at crucial situations when trying to close out the half or when trying to get back into a game late. They weren't horrible......however given how prolific the offense is during the rest ofby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com

The O-line unit had a dream season last year with respect to a lack of injuries. That just isn't going to happen in back to back years. There needs to be more depth at OT and OG. I like Blythe at Center.....so Center is OK for now.by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
The import of Peters, Talib....and now Suh....will require SOMEONE on the field to rise up and lead this team. McVay and Phillips can do what they want on the sidelines......but the emotions boiling over on the field will require SOMEONE on the field to keep that all in check. The concern I have is that this team really has no leader (particularly on the defense) to keep others in check. Donalby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Two years ago....who would have thought top talent in the league would be taking less money to get on the Rams? What McVay has done to transform this team is amazing!by chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Of course, this assumes the coaching staff can reign Peters/Talib personalities in.....and keep them in control. Last year's Rams team was (together with the Vikings) one of the darlings of the NFL last year. McVay is personable.....always shows respect..they are (again) one of the youngest teams in the league....their best player (and the best player in the league at his position) is respectfuby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
Eagles are going to have some cap issues 2018. Once Wentz needs to get paid it will be worse. Rams have some "cleaning up" to do from a cap perspective.....some of the decisions are no brainers (Tavon). But....the cap situation looks fairly good for the Rams short term. Everything about them is different. Smith is more deliberate and conservative (although some will say he has been coached that way). Cousins is a bit more free-wheeling and is more of a gambler. Before this year.....many would say Smith won't win you many games....but he also won't lose you many either. That changed this year as Smith showed a bit more downfield attack. It sometimes irked me when people would say the same thing about the Rams in the 70's.....but once you got into the 80's the 49ers arrived. The AFC East has been an absolute joke of a divion for 15 years. There were a few years when the Rex Ryan Jets showed something....but after the Butt Fumble....they crashed and burned quickly. Jags were still up 20-10. The ball was dislodged....but was not yet fumbled before the player hit the ground. 99 time out of 100 it is called a fumble. They always say receivers show the biggest growth in their second year. Everett needs that opportunity to grow. I concede that this team really lacks that big, automatic TE target (ala Gronk or Kelce) which YOU KNOW McVay would love to have given his propensity for TE's. So it is tempting to say "go for it' in round 1. However there are just to many higher priorities which can pay immby chunkmeister - RamsFootballFans.com
It's almost like they perform better when there is no pressure or expectation of winning. Play a game on the road...its you against the world, and for most of the season, hardly anybody expected the Rams to win on the road. I hate grapefruit so that is out. Orange juice seems too basic for me. I agree that Lime Juice (Roses) is good. The best is to make your own simple syrup about a week ahead of time. Can you imagine being 3 years into that contract and the Raiders are still mired in nothing? I love the personality of Gruden. But to be honest, the guy won one Superbowl (OK....he got hosed in Tuck-gate....but the Rams would have beaten the Raiders if they made it).
