This big fella gets no love on these pages, but I think it's time to show him some love. When he is healthy we always seem to be able to run the football. When he's been out, and that's not often, we can't get that important yard. He should be back this week and I think that is disastrous for the Hawks. That's very true, but do other teams keep their OL together? The salary cap seems to make it very hard to do. Your QB will take the Lion's share of your cap. Some teams have a star LT who usually makes bank. We have a DT who makes more than a million a game. We have a WR who makes a mil per game. Our OL is all a bunch of late round picks or undrafted guys except Avila. Play decent considering,by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com

Well, except they do. A top RB changes the entire way the opponents set up their defense. And to judge the entirety of a position's importance on total rushing yards and YPC is zany. Does this consider receiving yardage? Blocking? Sure, there's a point that you may not need a million dollar per game feature RB to be successful in today's NFL having one who can take over when you're trying to grinby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com

Wow. At least he sticks up for decisions, insane as they be. I wouldn't have him cover any receiver. They are too quick for him. Hoecht is fast but this isn't a straight line sprint this is backpedaling and making quick pivots. Love that Morris can throw out all kinds of footballese in describing why Hoecht is getting burned all over the field. I guess you can justify anything.by SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com

Hoecht was drafted as a DT and is learning an entirely new position. He is a very fast 300 pound guy. He has the athleticism to play the position from a big DE, pass rusher but he gets abused when he tries to literally go into coverage one on one split wide. He is not a CB. He has no chance on those plays. Any offense I've coordinator will and should attach this area of weakness. I like Hoecht, bby SoCalRAMatic - RamsFootballFans.com

Well to trade a mid second round pick for a swap of late round pick two years from now is a failure. Second rounders are supposed to be high performance starters. Puka has an injury history and Kupp has been hurt twice and is just returning. Tutu was a second rounder and his stock is looking up. Who is our 4th WR? Durant and Kendrick were horrible. Don't have much faith in either of them. Hoecht is different. Not only is he playing out of position, but edge rushers never are asked to cover WRs split wide. And Hoecht is fast but not that fast. And even if he could keep up with their speed he's not a corner. He's not used to back pedaling, making lightning quick stops and finding the ball. Agree this could be an issue going forward. Stafford is a tough bird though. Amazing he won that game last week with no hip. Rams did address this issue by drafting Bennett. Nobody knows what's going on with him right now. Many suggest he could be in rehab. Will he come out successfully? Not sure that the Rams even know. Besides these guys we have practically nothing. Very proud of our Rammies after yesterday's game. They played hard and we're in it the whole way. Biggest problem is we are thin. Noteboom was out, Jackson was playing injured, Shelton got hurt and even Havs went down. We were playing an undefeated reigning NFC champion and were even leading and only failed in the end due to injuries, youth and inexperience. Puka has starred in CK's absence but his targets will fall off when the best WR in the NFL joins him on the field. He might still win rookie of the year but the Falcon's RB is doing great and I'm sure this Shroud guy, whoever he is, is good too. Way too early to predict post season awards. Glad SB is doing really well. Don't know what that means. But, glad anyway. Never seen such a team of mystery. Guys getting deactivated and put on non medical leaves. Guys who are questionable play every snap. I feel like I'm watching Harry Potter and the kids are hiding under the cloak. Agree on VJ. He will probably have his last real chance to make a positive impact for the Rams Monday night against the Bengals. In the first game he outright dropped a perfectly thrown bomb which cost us a TD. In game 2, he waited on a long pass rather than come back toward it that became a key interception.
