Bowers is a lot better than our current TEs including Higbee. He won't last to 19. Look at who made it to the NFL Final Four last season. The Niners have Kittle. The Chiefs have Kelce. The Lions have Hockenstein. The Ravens have Likely. Look at what Gronk did for the cheater. Having a big weapon inside (who can block) opens up the whole offense. I don't think all 5 top D front 7 prospects will be off the board at all. I really doubt that chop makes it to 1-28. If we trade down I think it will be just a couple of slots. But, there should be some really terrific choices sitting at 19. I don't see this scenario playing out at all, but I'd be happy if it worked out that way. No I don't agree that we should forget about Evans. Kyren was a late round nobody and suddenly emerged. I also don't think we need a speed WR at all. We have one. Tutu. Puka is also fast enough. So is Kupp. DR is quick. If we want to add an offensive player I think we could like Bowers. We could also nab a LOT. Otherwise, I see us going D early and often. We need a DE, edge, ILB. I'm really excited about our OL. AJ did a decent job as a full time LT and has the size and dedication to improve. Our guards could both be All Pro, Avila is a total stud and Havs is way under respected. I like having Noteboom to back up 4 positions and hope he is used in goal line sitz as the extra tackle. Here's the thing. There are 22 different positions. Not including special teamers and we pick 19. We have a very good shot at the best player at some position. Better yet, there is a high probability that several QBs (maybe 6)will come off the board and I don't see us taking one since we have Stafford. That forces other positions down to us. The interesting thing to me is how the Rams evaluate Evans. Remember, KW was drafted as a depth piece behind Akers and Hendu. He was barely used at first. Suddenly he's a true #1 and a top RB. Rivers came from nowhere and played well in his second year for us. Evans has the talent especially as a pure runner and has speed. Let's discuss the RBs. KW just emerged so we are great at #1. I thought DR played really well when he got the chance. Not sure why Gore would take his spot. And we traded up last year to take Evans who really didn't see the field. Of course we need a 4th and maybe a fifth RB , so we sure might draft one. Not long ago CK won the triple crown among receivers and caught the winning TD in the SB. He was the best WR in all of the NFL. He came back from a serious injury and became the second weapon as Puka emerged as the best rookie WR ever. I see them both as superstars going forward. They re-signed their #3, still have Atwell. That was very poorly written, but the thing I did learn is that Wentz doesn't need to play any more football. He has made about $130 million. He can look at any opportunity he likes and money will not be the determining factor. Of course the Rams would like him back as a quality #2. Maybe he needed more than two weeks for the type of injuries he's facing? I think he's been playing hurt all season. He looked like himself when he first came back mid season, but got hurt again. In the next couple of weeks we'll learn more about his health. Hopefully it's something he can rehab this off-season. It's very hard to really know what we need, but it does seem that there were a few spots where we let someone go in FA and was hoping a young guy would emerge and it didn't really happen. You cite CB as number one. Well, Ramsey was a #1 CB. He wanted top top money and lost a step, but, if we had him yesterday, we probably win the game. You have EDGE next. The thing is that every pro kicker should have a super high percentage of makes inside 45 yards out and they should nail all their XPs. It's incredible that our guy misses so many of each and they're not close. It's not whether it could cost us a win but when will it? He is the best HC and still learning. Hard to believe what he and Snead accomplished with this group. Some of his decisions are baffling but most of the time he finds a way to win. The players are balling out and seem to love the guy. We lost several All Pro level stars and replaced them with late round rookies and got better. Lost Ramsey, Floyd, Wagner on D and improved.
