My word but you live in an athletic area... seems one of your teams qualifies for State every year. I think maybe our ladies soccer team did that this year, although it may not have been "State" overall but rather a section of the state. Our football team moved to a new league this year... much more competitive, much bigger schools. Most of the teams in this new league are poby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I am watching a movie called Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. I’m about half way thru it. It is the wackiest, oddest, funniest, craziest, most insane, movie I have ever seen in my life. You should watch it. I know your reaction will probably be “What The F Is This #$@$?”… BUT… I think that’s the point of the movie. Never seen anything like this, never will again. two grandsons... oldest and 4th oldest... have hair I would die for. Not sure it you would call it "Wavy" or "Curly" but it's VERY wavy and not kinky curly but definitely curly. The point is: They have no need of a comb or a brush... and in fact neither uses a comb or brush. They get out of the shower, or lake, or swimming pool, whatever, and it's perfect. Doesn't needby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

Thought you meant the real Elvis and was about to reply about seeing him concert. No need now. :laughing No, haven't seen the movie, wasn't even aware of it.... which makes no sense.... If a hermit living in a cave in Ethiopia murmurs the word "Elvis" my wife's ears perk up and she wants to know what's going on. If she had heard of this movie she would have been non-stop talking abby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
these days my wife and I always cheered for our grandsons to have long hair... but their mothers wanted them to have short hair. Every haircut my wife and I would moan, "Oh damn, his hair was just starting to look good". :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
simply incredible, and inspiring. I had heard this story but had not seen that video. My WWII knowledge is meager, at best... as for reasons, battles, strategy.... but these tales from the war I have read and researched often... this tale rates right at the top.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Best off season EVER for me. I'm not done celebrating the SB yet. Also... our local HS started a lot of springtime football camps/7 on 7's so it's almost like football didn't end for me this offseason. Now my two grandson's still playing football have two weeks off before official football season begins, (yup, even before the NFL).... so what this all means is: This week and next are my oby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

I love to brag about this. I have never had a cold in my life. The flu? Yes.. but not many times... and most of those times in the last few years. There are only two things I used to get often.. Strep Throat when I was young, haven't had it in decades... and Swimmer's Ear which I get about every 2 or 3 years... last time was a year ago. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Other than my oldest grandson every other person in my immediate family has the same reaction as you. They detest deserts. So much so that they make it as miserable as possible when traversing the desert... and if you leave Calif. headed east there is no route that is NOT thru the desert. They are in bliss seeing a McD's. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I think it's because I've spent so much time in 'wastelands'... even in Texas. Having done so I'm always aware that even in what appears to be wasteland there is stuff out there, often amazing stuff... just over the horizon maybe or even closer, just over that small hill and down in a ravine. Another appeal wasteland has for me is that no one else wants to go there. :laughing Almost alwaby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
If it's new country I've never seen I love it. If it's roads I have seldom traveled then I wouldn't say 'love' but I still enjoy it. If it's an often traveled road then nope, not at all. We have to travel to Fresno often because only in Fresno can we do certain things... doctors, Govt. agencies, lawyers, the list is long... and I DETEST it. In fact... Born in Japan, if memory serves? Yokota, I think? I think I mentioned to you that I visited Yokota while in Japan. Got a military apartment there then traveled the area. Funny thing... I don't think I've ever visited any state or country that I did not like. Some more than others but I liked them all. Now cities not so much... some I did not like. My son's family is currently vacationing in Sicily. I'm Italian but my family came from Tuscany, (northern Italy), and I know little about southern Italy and next to nothing about Sicily. In my head I had it pictured as quite barren, beautiful to me but very arid which doesn't bother me but most people don't really care for 'arid'. Not so the town he's in now. Taormina. I'm not sure any of them still exist, at least not yearly. During the heydays of airshows the planes, which included many WWII planes, would fly directly over my home at times and very close at other times on the way to the shows. I remember once my son and I counted around 50 flying overhead and all visible at the same time. I've never been very good at identifying overhead aircraft bby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Actually I didn't even watch Star Trek until it was in syndication. But the follow-up series? I may, not sure, have seen an episode or two but that's it. For me my primary motivation is sharing it with my grandsons. Not that I don't like the movies, I do... and a lot.... but following with my grandsons makes it even better... sort of seeing it thru the eyes of a child, or young adult. Iby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I'm getting more and more into NCAA Football... while fully acknowledging some of the complaints you and others have brought up. I agree... BUT... I don't much get into the politics of the game, (probably should but don't), because it's the game itself, and "real" emotion of the players that I love.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I'll leave it up to my grandson. Not going to rewatch the recent TV Star Wars shows either... Mandalorian, Boba, Ob-Wan.... which fit into the timeline as well - - and at least not on this binge... at a later date sure. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

Just finished watching the first three episodes of Star Wars - Phantom Menace; The Clone Wars; Revenge of the Sith.. and yes.. the other movies, in chronological order, will come next. Twas' an eye opener... and still a mystery. I remember watching those first 3 episodes, I think beginning in 1999... and liking them but feeling the saga had been diminished. the last several years is too bad that I'm seriously thinking the highest rated and most expensive isn't worth it... I have no more luck with the most expensive products than I do with the mid-priced products. I DO have better luck than the 'lowest priced' products.. which are unlikely to perform it's task straight out of the box, or whatever container it comes in.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
It was the Rams, Colts, Bear, Niners, Packers, Lions all in the NFL West. The first true 'rivalry' I felt with the Rams was the Colts. I can remember when the Colts departed feeling remorse that the rivalry had come to an end.. Ram's had not exacted enough revenge on them at that point and now they never would. :laughing In 1958 the Ram's did pretty good finishing 8-4... so the first trby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
And believe me I was crushed by the defeat... but I was at that game and IMHO that Ram's team was about the weakest of the 70's... I didn't expect that team to make the SB... so on the drive home from the game I actually felt pride that they had held their own. Whereas that last loss to Niners was as close to soul crushing as I've ever experienced. I really can't explain the depths of despaby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
We have one of those glass tops but found that with teenagers in the house they are impossible to keep looking clean. Instead I'm going with gas (LP) this time.. which means I have to plumb our gas lines, (our heaters and water heaters are gas), to the Kitchen Island. NOT cheap but we think gas is SO much better to cook with. I considered induction but just too expensive.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Or is about too... today they are seeing a few more sights they missed in the last week... Soldier Field, for example. They'll depart from O'Hare tonight.
