My son's family is currently vacationing in Sicily. I'm Italian but my family came from Tuscany, (northern Italy), and I know little about southern Italy and next to nothing about Sicily. In my head I had it pictured as quite barren, beautiful to me but very arid which doesn't bother me but most people don't really care for 'arid'.
Not so the town he's in now. Taormina. My son described it perfectly.... It's the Isle of Capri but in Sicily. I think the citizen's of Taormina should immediately ban the rest of the world from visiting... even me, before it's too late.
