I watched two episodes and, sorry if you and everyone loved this show... it's just not working for me. Odd, very out there... strange events which, I suppose, the events are supposed to be given the genre but never the less I find myself semi-intrigued but more than a little "oh give me a break" built in. Not sure I'll continue.. episode 3 that is... maybe, maybe not. I'm thinking Iby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
After posting that I went on a Nat listening binge. :laughing In doing so it brought back a very old memory. Some of his songs I can remember hearing when I was very, VERY young, early 50's for sure, while playing around house/yard. My Mom listened to him.... so the only explanation I have is that she must have owned several of his records and played them on our old record player. Radio wouby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I don't think the others are 'quite' into those old time crooners the way you and I are... well, also Frank. I'm having a GLORIOUS, and rare, evening.. no one home but me... so MY music. For the first time I tried the station Apple Music creates for users, based on your listening habits... and lo and behold up pops Nat.... and I was like a teen ager at an Elvis concert in the late 50's. My son-in-law is beside himself... almost in tears with joy at seeing 'history'. They both say it's absolutely beautiful. Even in the video chat I was in awe... like a boyhood memory coming to life. The first Major League game I ever saw was between the Cubs and Giants at Seal stadium, which is now long gone... but not Wrigley.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
At a little bar outside called "Murphys" right now... she says it's packed with Cub fans. Her sons are SOOOOOOOO jealous. Not as jealous as me, however. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

I think the only place(s) I've ever been where I truly wished I could stay and never return home were the very remote wilderness areas I backpacked into. Not very realistic, but a man can dream. While typing this I asked myself, "Self, if you had to live in one of the large cities of the world you have visited which would it be?". I couldn't answer myself. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
As did I when I visited long ago. However, she is a country girl at heart, raised on a farm. IOW... visits to large cities, as nice as they are, grow claustrophobic for us after even a short time. She's not there yet, :laughing , but she is thinking a return home on Thursday is long enough. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
My daughter and son-in-law return on Thursday. They are asking me about places within an hour, hour and half, drive of O'Hare that would make for a nice visit. She asked me about South Bend... see Notre Dame.... I have been there but long ago...1992. My impression of South Bend, at that time, was not good. Yes, the campus of Notre Dame itself is very nice but the area, to me, was not. Alby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
And yes, she said the deep dish pizza was VERY filling. She couldn't even finish a single slice. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

The game time forum, made me ache for the season to begin. I've had a little relief from the off season blues this year because with our new HS Football coach he's keeping his team active...trying to instill that 'winning culture'... so lots of 7 on 7 tournaments. No, not like real football but it helps kill the time. :laughing Mauie looks well... perhaps a little ticked that she's having tby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
They are headed to the Pier but first... some deep dish pizza. :laughing They are in the Little Italy district, or were, they have to move to another hotel tonight. My daughter is in awe of how 'clean' the city is... at least in her area it is. That's how I remembered it as well.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I relayed your tips to her this morning. They are just setting out for their daily activities.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
and isn't it tragic that we have to have 'safe zones' now? Last night in text my daughter said she asked her Taxi driver for suggestions on things to see and do in Chicago and he said the same thing as you... stay in the 'safe zones". I visited Chicago once, long ago. As you know I'm not fond of large cities but I certainly recognize they contain many entertaining and interesting siteby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I have seen none of those movies you mention. I believe, Iowa, that I know no one who has seen more movies than you have. :laughing Since Covid began.. 2 years ago? I have watched more movies in a 2 year period than any other 2 year period of my life. AND.. I enjoyed it. Well, movies and a few TV Series as well. As I have mentioned before, many times, during my active farming years I jby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Those two guys, IMHO, are remarkably talented QB's that teams are blessed to have on their rosters. That they haven't won a SB and won't is probably... no make that precisely, the dumbest argument I can imagine. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I do not, for the most part, believe in 'injury prone'. Granted that with some injuries it makes it so... I accept that, believe that - how can one not? It's fact. But for the general "he got hurt and he will again" stuff... .no.. I think that's BS.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I only saw that one episode. A TV show watching curmudgeon, (I have seen literally nothing of all these series compared to you guys)... I am 'regretting' that a little these days... after finding and binging both Longmire and Bosch.. which I loved, (although I'm tepid about the new Bosch series). I have NO DOUBT that some of these shows ALL of you have seen are VERY good and I just missed oby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
and I mean that sincerely... but it leaves me completely flat OTHER THAN... when I watch with my grandson's who like them... they don't actually LOVe them preferring almost all other sci-fi series BUT.. they do like them. But don't go by me, (not that you would :laughing ), I'm burned out on pretty much all super hero movies.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Any suggestions on "Must Do's" while there? My daughter is there right now. They're going to Wrigley, (that's a given), and trying Chicago Pizza... maybe seeing the Biograph Theater where Dillinger was killed but other than that they are asking for advice. First the obvious... gotta win the first to have a chance at a dynasty.... done deal. Exactly what you say - knowing how to win the close ones... done deal. Not being pillaged, (losing a lot of key players), I would say... done deal. Getting better. That's the key. that's the name of an actual minor league baseball team here in Calif. I liked the Mandalorian a LOT. I liked Boba Fett but not as much. As for Obi-Wan.. I think it's the best of the three. All subjective, of course, and I can understand others differing from my opinion. As for the character Reva in the series Obi-Wan.. IMHO I think this is the best character introduced since the original series. I also think the actress is fantastic - Moses Ingram. Tby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
And I fully believe this... There are 'animal people'. By that I mean.. people that animals just gravitate towards with love and affection... MORE so than just the 'typical' fondness for people that most animals show for humans. Animals flock to him, more than anyone else in my family.
