After the draft, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple veteran free agents were signed. Would love to have Campbell on first and second down vs. the niners. At 38, he is still one of the league's best run stoppers.by since68 - RamsFootballFans.com
When you look at the % of games above 70 (as rated by PFF) during the last year of college for leading edge rushers . . . . . . an interesting pattern develops: The leading edge rushers in the NFL have the highest scores when graded by % of games rated above 70 by PFF. What stats/numbers/tape do you think are important when drafting/rating an edge defender? Does it bother anyone that Latu did not participate in the bench press at combine or pro day? Do Verse's lower game to game PFF ratings compared to the others bother anyone? By the way, Turner has the same "inconsistent" game to game numbers. Knowing the names, does anyone want to change a vote? Amazing how close Latu's numbers are to Bosa's. Does that mean anything? Latu doesn't seem nearly as powerful as Bosa? We all know the Rams need to draft an edge this year. The following ranks the leading edge defenders in various categories. Choose the one you would want the Rams to draft - fastest?, quickest?, strongest?, highest PFF? *Bonus points if you can guess the identity of any of the players* All of the stats are from the player's last 2 years of college. "The Beast", is a draft compilation put out by Dane Bruglar of theathletic.com. It is an incredible document if you are into the NFL draft. It is 324 pages of info on thousands of players. He breaks them down by position. For instance, he has 216 safties listed. For the first 38, he writes out a fairly lengthy review. For cornerbacks, he uses 40 pages and rates 244 CBs. There is a lot of talent between 30 and 160. If we could add 2/3 picks in that range by trading back and still get one of . . . Latu, Murphy, Newton, Chop, Turner, Verse, Kneeland, Mitchell, Arnold, Dejean or some others, we would have 8/9 picks in the top 160 and could load up nicely with quality players at needed spots during the rest of the draft.by since68 - RamsFootballFans.com

Latu and Bosa had very similar college production and workout numbers prior to their draft. The only exception being Bosa had 29 reps on the bench and Latu did not do the bench at his combine or pro day. If the doctors are saying his neck is ok, I would draft Latu the first chance I got.by since68 - RamsFootballFans.com
Puka Nacua was PFF's #1 rated receiver in College 2022 ! Nacua was #1, Rashee Rice was 3, Tank Dell was 6, Addison was 13. You could say PFF was right about Nacua when many others were "wrong"/passed him over. Does every team have a PFF-like process where every snap for every college player is rated or do they have something more/less? The Lions knew exactly where they wanted to go when they needed a TD down at the goal line. Force Hoecht to cover man to man - no contest, easy TD and we lose by 1. If they knew that, why didn't our DC or were we just that short on personnel ?by since68 - RamsFootballFans.com
Who knows what his future in the NFL will look like and I'm not predicting he's the next Tyreek, but according to testing and PFF numbers, Pearsall is right there with some outstanding NFL receivers. When you compare standout NFL receivers, you usually find they had outstanding shuttle and 3 cone times coming out of college and of course, production. Pearsall is a little down on production (syby since68 - RamsFootballFans.com
Is this a dumb question? What if he slides to the 4th/5th round and the Rams pick him then sign him to wieght/discipline/drug test/workout incentive laden contract? Like one poster said, IF he turns things around, it could be a gold mine. He can either sign the contract and live up to it, or sit and get nothing.by since68 - RamsFootballFans.com

Are CBs that can cover man to man better/quicker than those that can't? . . . and thus more valuable ? Do CBs that are slower need to play zone or they will get beat regularly? Penix throws so "effortlessly" and accurately - of course with no pressure and no defense. The Texas game was would could be with him and it was pretty darn good, you might say spectacular. On the other hand, the Michigan game, not nearly as good - when put under some pressure. I agree. It would be much better if they put some DBs on the receivers. The 3 cone and shuttle can point out quickness/ability to move the feet. For the most part, and depending on position, guys who have "slow" 3 cone or shuttle times can't play at the NFL level. Maybe they skip these 2 drills because they know they will run slow times?by since68 - RamsFootballFans.com
