I rewatched the Rams Saints game; the difference was the failure to execute in the second quarter and Peters not being ready on the Saints long TD pass in the fourth quarter. The Rams put up 35 without a running game. I think Gurly was not 100 percent. Brees was deadly; he had a terrific first half. I saw the Ram defense make adjustments in the second half and stop the Saints except for the sby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
AJ is a north south runner, bruising without break away speed. Let him take some of the pounding up the middle to give Gurley a break. Use him to help close out the game. Gurley is the main weapon; but, if he is not 100 percent protect him for the long haul. Use AJ in two tightened sets, but mix it up with Gurley. Goff’s struggles are attributable to more pressure and less time in the pocket to make reads. Why less time? Defenses have mostly taken away the mid to deep routes, playing a bend but don’t break defense and the Rams have been unable to score because of turnovers or failed red zone production resulting in fieldgoals. Certainly Goff could improve ball security and make better decision on throwby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

This article is based on a belief that Green Bay job is somehow superior to all others, a job so good that no coach could refuse. One which would force the team holding his contract to trade him away! The arrogance of the author to postulate that the specter of coaching the storied Green Bay Packers would, or even could cause a coach to want to be traded from a successful team playing in a majorby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

The tide of comments on this board are that Goff looked off, the team unprepared and that McVay called a poor game. Another post indicated that it looked like the Rams played a lot like NO did last Thursday. I agreee, but I have a different theory. Detroit played like the Cowboys. They pressed the receivers from the line, redirected and delayed their routes. Their DLine pressured Goff and oveby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
i thought the same. Pass coverage was press coverage, hand combat and flags could of flown; but, they did not. Isnt’t the defensive backs coach for the Cowboys a former Seattle coach? Perhaps the officials will allow this in the playoffs too!by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
Did we see a blueprint to stop the New Orleans offense? It appeared to me that the Cowboys took away the short routes with tight man coverage, which allowed the rush to pressure and get to Brees. New Orleans looked off, but much of that was the aggressive defense the Cowboys played. Those linebackers can run and tackle. Lots of missed calls could have dramatically changed that game.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

The Rams have played the toughest strength of schedule in the NFC thus far (opponents had a combined winning percentage of 57%). That is the second toughest schedule in the entire NFL (Denver 58%). From here on out the Rams have the easiest strength of schedule in the entire NFL (combined winning percent of remaining opponents is just 39%). You slant Fishers record by discounting Foles and Keenum as “not starting caliber QB.” You are correct under Fisher they were not, but that was on Fisher. They have both had much success under everyone but Fisher. Same goes for Goff. Fisher has never been a good offenseive coach, reallyt developed any QB’s and completely mishandled Goff his rookie year. The game had passed him by when he wasby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
We watch on television and it appeared that lots of players were having trouble with footing. Many slipped making cuts or when changing directions. The field at Dodger Stadium frequently gets slick during night games in October. That sure looked like the case here. Players frequently get injured and/or can get a cramp in a leg after a significant slip. Cramps and dehydration go hand in hand too.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
It’s a term describing a place from which teams are expected to score as a measure of success. But the ball being inside the 20 is rather arbitrary. It is certainly descriptive and makes it easier for coachs and commentators to make reference rather than getting into the detail. Not all red zone opportunities are the same. then they out played the Packers. From that point on the Rams scored 27 and Green Bay only scored 15 points. Even though they spotted them 10 they still out scored them, had more yards and could have scored 7 more. Love the resolve of this Team! Absolutely love Gourly’s last play. His movement is not as fluid as it should be. His ability to altter direction is not the same as it was and he doesn’t appear to have closing speed I’d seen before. He looks like a player that is not 100 percent and is nursing a injury. But he is still taking risks and that is a bad combination. Here is hoping whatever is bothering him doesn’t linger all season.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
The Packers were grabbing and holding receivers, the defense looked like they knew the plays and stymied the high flying offense, Dejavue. Their defensive backs got away with lots of holds through out the game, as did their offensive line and not just on AD. Fisher caused much of Goff’s horrible first half year. That offense was historically pathetic. During his first camp he didn’t get much work with the starters. He was brought in to start mid year only because the season was lost and even a fine QB like Keenum couldn’t make the offense go. Although the DL didn’t get the sacks we all wanted, the pressure they excerted up the middle caused some poor throws and panic by their QB. Why do they rank the Rams offense lower than last years results? Did having a year together with the same offense and 10 returning starters cause them to be projected lower? Or is it because Watkins and TA are gone? Maybe the league has tape on the Rams McVay offense now? I'm certain New England has always had it, but they don't share with the league!. What’s telling is the number of field goals attempted combined in 2013 and 2014. In those years, like 15 and 16, the Rams had one of the most pathetic offenses in the NFL (history).
