If they could get Mack inexpensively for one year and draft Meinerz I'd sign up for that for sure.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's a very valid argument that Donald helps create opportunities for guys on the Edge. Quinn, Connor Barwin, Matthews, Longacre, Fowler, and Floyd. Well, their bet is with Donald there that will continue for Floyd. He was not only top-10 in the league in sacks he was top-20 in QB hits. And as others have said he is good (not great) vs. the run and in coverage too. Hard to find a guy on the eby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Looking at this list from PFF a few things come to mind. One, they might have a shot to retain Troy Hill? And if not, there are a lot of CBs out there. Two, at center could David Andrews or Austin Reiter be options? Alex Mack as well.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They have Hollins and Lewis but neither are guaranteed to be quality starters. If a good value pops up at edge with any of their top 3 selections I'd jump at one for sure.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
5 years up to $82.5M. The edge rusher market was expensive....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I will just be really curious to see how they made it work. I was never against him staying but just assumed it was never financially viable. With him, Hollins and Lewis I would still be all for drafting an edge rusher with one of their top two selections. So likely now one 4th round comp pick in 2022 for Johnson. Maybe a couple late rounders depending on Ebukam and what happens with Hillby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought he came in as a rookie and played very well. Earned more and more playing time after their bye week, really showed promise. Then in 2018 he had the incredible game vs. KC on MNF but....not much else... And 2019 and 2020 have just been pretty quiet for him overall, playing less and less. Was always a stalwart on special teams (almost 800 snaps in 4 seasons) but again never liby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

$15M/year should lock in a 3rd rounder for sure.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Eagles are signing former Rams SS John Johnson to a 4-year, $60M deal and $55.33M guaranteed,by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. Not that they both aren't really good players but netting 3rd round picks for Johnson and Floyd would be ideal. There has to be a bit of belt tightening in LA when it comes to FA spending for one season.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I always say teams are FAR better off not making any signings for the first 72 hours. Minimum.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
One necessity in trading away 1st round picks is maximizing middle and late round picks- and part of that is adding to them through the comp. picks formula. Clearly part of their strategy and I would assume they try to net multiple 2022 comp. picks yet again. That's done by (a) letting high-priced guys go, (b) signing guys released elsewhere (do not count against the comp. picks formula) and (c)by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Much bigger need. WR4 is a guy they need to play 15 snaps per game with some speed. Draft him later.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
So not only injury issues but just performance that has fallen off quite a bit. At least in his 3 years before that in Houston he was averaging 9 sacks per 16 games played. But he's done nothing for the past two. So yeah, he'd have to be really, really cheap..by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
2nd year. Will be the clear 3rd WR. Will have a 'real' training camp and preseason (and hopefully OTAs). Over the past 4 years, the 3rd WR in this offense has averaged about 40 catches and 550 yards and that's about what I'm expecting of Jefferson.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. Each are very reasonable bets. But when you have to bet on all of them then the odds become steeper.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
With Talib, Peters, Watkins, Matthews, Fowler, etc.- what they gave to acquire them, their performance as Rams and then what they received when they left are all fine in my opinion. With Cooks the total value is TBD because the 23rd pick they gave New England for him equates to two years of Cooks plus 4 years of Jefferson (drafted with the 57th pick they received when they traded Cooks to HOU). It's great that the Rams have drafted well overall in the 2nd-6th rounds in recent years. Now they HAVE TO for the next several years. It's great that they could have a productive Aaron Donald through 2023/age 32. Now he HAS TO BE (post-contract restructuring). It's great that Andrew Whitworth has played well into his late 30s. Now he HAS TO BE back at age 39 (turns 40 around week 15 thisby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Is that Donald, Ramsey, Kupp and Woods (and I am assuming they need to restructure all four) will remain very productive through 2023. If they are, great. If one or more goes sideways, not so much.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

So maybe a connection there- or at least a good opinion either way from AW. But this is the type of OL the Rams should look at- released elsewhere (doesn't affect compensatory picks formula), experienced (135 starts, just turned 31), maybe longing for success after making a lot of money already and toiling on some bad teams?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
SF awarded two 3rds as well (plus a 5th), giving them now 5 picks total in the top 3 rounds/103 picks overall. Seattle received none and have just one pick (56th overall) in the top 130. According to Tankathon.com they have the least draft capital overall in this Draft. Arizona received none as well and have their picks at 16, 49 and 80 in the top 3 rounds (5 total picks in the Draft).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Because, well, they can't afford him and also he would toss a wrench into the compensatory picks strategy the Rams clearly follow. Once restructuring is done I'd give Williams the 1st round RFA tender and go from there. Try to get Fox back at a reasonable rate. Stand back and focus on veterans that have been released (and again, therefore, don't count against the comp. picks formula). I agreeby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
