The player profile has changed with mcVay and so has the drafting.
He's been better no way around that.
This tells me that the primary problem was the previous desired player profile was faulty.
Except they have a decent record of getting good players.
So maybe that entire premise is flawed.
One key significant difference is that 2017 was one of the deepest drafts in recent memory.

There's a difference between a decent record and a good one.
There's also a difference between semantics and honest debate. I've had this discussion before and I put the Rams drafts in the "good" category. Don't pick on one word. Either way their hit percentage overall falls within the same parameters you find for top drafting teams. And yes the Rams have drafted great players. Donald and (IMO) Joyner for example. And of course they're so young it's hard to say about others like Gurley and Goff.
I like the fact that a guy like McV and like Wade know what they want for their systems, but then they also benefitted from a remarkably deep draft year. My bet is that if you went around the league, many teams will have a higher hit percentage in 2017 than they did in the previous couple of years, including teams that are normally good drafting.
