This on a freak ST injury - from your own guy - on a return that should not have happened. I hope this is another pariah - this kid was sound, I believe, in college. We need him back.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
We hired Hav as a road grader when he first came up. He morphed into a very serviceable Pro Bowl pass blocker as well. We need another road grader beside him at RG. If we could run right side that would help.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
He did it well enough in game time, didn't he? I thought I saw that ball bounce off his chest before he went through his hands backwards. He wouldn't be the first player (football or instrumental) who shined in practice but couldn't perform real-time under the bright lights. At this point, like the guy who jams up a storm but forgets the chord changes on the stage, I think the game may beby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I've lobbied a couple of times in total satire, irony, and sarcasm to go find Marshawn Lynch, wherever he is, get him into shape and suit him up, and play him for twenty snaps, maybe six to ten, fifteen carries per game - a workload he could probably handle. That notion is making better sense all thew time. Akers not with it? Henderson out? Williams out? Is Funk fully over his injury and readby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
You think Perkins could have won that game? Sorry, I disagree. Could Perkins have completed 70% of his passes and done the rest with his legs? He doesn't have the chemistry with Kupp that Stafford does and Stafford had to go to Kupp out of desperation too often - the slow-developing plays didn't have time to develop. Perkins, in the same setting, might have scrambled sooner and made somethingby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Henderson IS his best RB right now. And that's on Akers - not coach. I don't think Akers or anybody play with the inward assumption: "Coach is on my case so I'm not even gonna try." Coach is saying, basically, he needs to get his asz in gear. If that or an old fashioned lockerroom arse chewing hurt his feelings, he needs to mature a bit, shall we say, and suck it up. His unby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
OK - well taken point. Regardless the lack of motivation, he didn't appear motivated. I think we agree there; the rest of my post was speculation but based on experiended observation - he just wasn't playing like a player who had his head, or his heart, in the game. It takes both. I've seen that kind of behavior often enough to recognize it in my students, players when I was coaching, pby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Not as bad as we thought? After reading your last paragreaph maybe worse than we thought. I just learned today that Allen is out, didn't know anything about Boom being out.Subs at OC, RG, LT at this point of the season isn't good - even against "soft" teams. Losing 60% of your Oline in our first game is an ugly thought. Losing your starting RB as well... if Akers doesn't get hisby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Depression? Distraction due to personal/family situation? I don't see Cam as a spoiled rich kid partyboy who doesn't take football seriously ala Johnny Fotball. I saw nothing in his body language (particularly with the ball in his hands) that indicated focus, committment, inspiration. I saw the opposite: distracted, uncommitted, uninspired performance. Cam: Do this thing and do it well. Peby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote18to84 Since the verdict is still out on Tutu as WR, maybe we could try him at Center? DingDingDing! You win the internet for today!:laughing When I suggested we go find Marshawn Lynch, suit him up, and put him in at running back somebody actually took me seriously - despite the smiley face in my post. Since I see NO smiley face in your post, maybe you ARE serious... playing Tutu atby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
He did show us... something. As I recall the play, it looked as if he wilted before the ball arrived. When his name was called I thought: "Atwell? Running a sideline posession route? When you have bigger stronger WR's with muscle and hands to make that catch?" I questioned the play call - not as a bad play to run in that situation, but a poor choice to target Atewll on as yourby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Glad you saw the humor in that - I was a little worried about being taken seriously after I posted, and getting roasted because we're not that far from it. laughter is the beginning of the climb out of lamentation - for me, anyway. Get some perspective, and then get serious - like Kupp said: reflect, rectify, respond. And Ramsey: "They were really attacking our little zones, like ourby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Two bad drops by Higbee, and I think he was out of position for that one horrible interception that was thrown right by him. Not one of his better games.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I hope, I HOPE, this will be cured as Stafford (who lobbied to acquire AR) and Robinson have time to develop rapport, AND there are plays coming in designed with him as the #1 target. Stats quoted here say he was more open, more often, than Kupp. Through the magic of network television, focused on the backs of the Bills' helmets instead of offering a replay, maybe from the all-22 perspectiveby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
The play call determines the number of steps in the drop. Why not go shotgun?by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Stafford got sacked seven times - seemed like he was pressured virtually ALL the time. And the coverage was better than McVay anticipated. When under duress Stafford throws to his favorite target, whom we all know can get open and with whom Stafford has an almost other-worldly communication. It seemed to me that he wasn't even positioned to see AR's side of the field half the time - and I don't kby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I remember a lot of "We'll fix it" fom Martz. I thought he coined the phrase. Sometimes the fix isn't in the X's and O's. All the scheming and planning in the world isn't a substitute for being ready to work hard, get dirty, and man up for the next play. Too many of the Rams looked confused, out of place, and bewildered tonight. Others continued to try hard against the overwhelming oby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
DaSilva writes: "The Rams were in 11-personnel for 100% of plays and the Bills blitzed on 0% of plays." I wrote before game time that I expected McVay to dial up some 2TE sets if needed. At this point I'm not sure they have any in the playbook. Von beat both Noteboom AND Higbee on one of his sacks, but still...by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Did they rush him back too soon from foot surgery? Foot and ankle tissue takes time to heal, more time to toughen up. I'd like to think that these two injuries are just an abberation; time will tell.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
You think? I was looking for halftime adjustments but didn't see any - except from the Bills.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
DiSilva writes: "McVay can’t control who Matthew Stafford targets, but he can call plays that are designed to go to a certain receiver. That didn’t happen for Robinson, and as a result, Stafford barely looked his way." Big assumption on the part of the writer, but plausible. Stafford was forced too much of the time to simply throw where he knew Coop might be; he had pressure in hby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
At this point we may as well go find Marshawn Lynch and suit him up for twenty snaps and a dozen carries a game. Something - anything - and what's left of Beastmode might be better than what we have for a power back.by mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
A lot of our plays take a lot of time to develop. And, the checkdown swings to a back, were afterthoughts in the game plan that didn't work on the field. Stafford had plugged vision instead of lanes to throw in, and tighter coverage in the secondary than McVay/Coen anticipated. All the deception and finesse in our scheme went down the drain against a tough, hardnosed football team that arriveby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
That's what I was seeing, and I posted late on the game forum that Ramsey would do better manned up with Diggs; you won't eliminate him but you'll limit his effectiveness. The coverage on the late TD where Ramsey dropped off his pace mid-route looked as if he was expecting help overt the top from Rapp (no need to rerpeat what we all are aware of about Rapp in coverage.) He tried accelerate anby mtramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Diggs played one heckuva game tomight. Hr gets credit. Ramsey came up short. Why? Quite frankly, I think Ramsey would have had a better night 1:1 man against Diggs. ZXone seam catches were half the problem. You're not going to shut Diggs down; you can only limit his effectiveness. The game plan tonight didn't do that.by mtramfan - Game Time Forum
Painfully, but Gilyard showed us more than Tutu. I think the Tutu train needs to be put in the box of broken toys.by mtramfan - Game Time Forum
Litte late for this comment, but I disagree. They were in zone, he expected safety help from... Rapp - who is simply not that good in coverage... and slowed down expecting it and the safety wasn't there - so he hit the throttle but couldn't recover in time. He had other zone responsibilities to the inside when he slowed down. The Bills were exploiting those zone seams (or wide open borders) wby mtramfan - Game Time Forum
And in it, the D found itself. Buffalo will have a tough time of it in the second half. Our O needs to settle down and will have to adjust - better protection might mean sacrificing some of the options in the passing game, going with your best players (Robinson has been silent - I look for him to come alive) and sticking a second TE to slow the Bills stampede.
