That wasn't my focus. It was solely about what I think they need to do in order to become elite. Just my opinion of that, as a fan like the rest of youze guys. Obviously, if the Rams haven't gone in the direction I think they should, the coaches see things differently. I assume that before hand. If I agreed with their direction, I wouldn't bother being critical -- and it's obviously not too critiby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCraigMatson Have you noticed Josh Forrest is getting some time at LB also and recovered the fumble Easley caused? . Not saying we should stop looking for talent there and at the other spots you mentioned. We may still need another OG~ C, besides a lights out #1wr. The Williams scheme works with average talent At FS because it's all about the pressure up front. Cody Davis's expeby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamUK That face mask penalty on Austin could easily have cost us the game. I know this is radical and I'm taking somewhat from soccer. In soccer when a player brings down a man in a clear scoring situation the player is automatically sent off (ejected). That wouldn't have helped us a fat lot, but I also think in these situations the ball should be placed on the 1-yard line. Thereby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
Right now, I think the Rams' D is weakest at FS. They're basically three deep at Strong Safety, with three talented thumpers, Barron, Alexander and McDonald. The first two can and do play linebacker as well. But the Rams still lack a true center-fielder with great recovery speed, instincts, cover abilities, etc. DE is the other spot. Hayes is solid, but getting older. Sims, IMO, should be cutby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills He is likely hurt... because he certainly has zero burst... none. Also he is not seeing holes well at all...where is his cut back? Quotedzrams nm Exactly. We lead the entire world in the incarceration of our citizens. That's not the kind of thing we should be proud of. IMO, we need to radically reduce, if not eliminate, all non-violent, victimless crime designations. Decriminalize all of that. Get these people help. Quotewv ram Fine by me. As long as the contract has a gazillion conduct/performance clauses in it. Ya know. It'd have to be a 'prove it' kinda contract. I got zero-problems giving chances to druggies (as long as the contract makes it a 'no-lose' situation). I do have a problem signing 'violent' predator types. Lawrence Philips types. Quote21Dog He's a mess. No thanks. I saw that just now. Looks like a coupla DUIs. I still think he'd be worth bringing in for a looksee. Talk with him. Find out if he's willing to do what needs to be done to resolve the drinking issue. If Wiki is correct, he was 22, 23, when it happened. Still a kid. QuoteRockRam The new "weed" is nothing like the weed of the 60's, 70's, even 80's. This stuff has been hybridized, is far more potent, and can be quite addicting in the same way that alcohol can be. I agree that in general it is not in the same class as Opiods or designer drugs, even Cocaine. But, yes, it does grab hold of people. And some are more easily addicted than others.by Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGreatRamNTheSky Why do we need a druggie on the team? Grits I haven't studied his situation in any depth, but if it's just pot, I couldn't care less. It's not an actual "problem." It's not addictive. So the only issues are, testing positive for it, which goes against league rules, plus legal issues outside the league purview. Pot itself is harmless.by Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
Apparently, Cleveland is getting ready to release him. He's just 25. Yeah, he has some issues, and is going into rehab. But he has tremendous talent, is a true #1, with size and speed, and he's young enough for a reclamation. Guessing he doesn't play this year at all, but I think the Rams should jump at the chance to sign him, work with him through his rehab, and see if a change of scenery doby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGuard it's the contain on outside running plays.... or lack there of. Doesn't seem to matter if it's Quinn, or Sims, or even Hayes... they are constantly crashing down the line on plays, and when they are in that dime look with only two LBers, there is no one out there on the edge... and they are getting gashed. It was really evident in the 9ers game, where they broke a lot of big runs toby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
He really is too small for this era at DT. And he looks like he's slimmed down more this year. I'd be surprised if he's 280. But he crushes. He's so quick, so relentless, and strong, most teams can't handle him at all. And I love that. He's defying all the odds and we Rams' fans should rejoice that we get to watch the underdog win. Oh, man. I am sooooo pumped after that victory!! No negatives, as far as I'm concerned. The Rams came to play, and they kicked butt and took bookoo prisoners!! Game balls, IMO, go to Kenny Britt, Robert Quinn, Mark Barron and William Hayes. But the whole team, offense and defense, gets major kudos. Very proud of their performance, and there were pretty much NO knucklehead plays. Soooooby Billy_T - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamUK The Rams have played 3 times in Tampa since I moved to Orlando and won 1 and lost 2. Guess which one I missed. Yep the win 2 years ago when I was on vacation. I have seen the Rams play 16 regular season games and only seen 2 victories! I don't think I can stomach another loss and really don't know what to do. Do we have even half a chance? QuoteRams43 No, not the tongue thing. That was kinda weird, but not puzzling. The comment that the Rams "don't have a whole lot" was the puzzler for me. QuoteArizonaRamFan What if the Rams designed an offense specifically to fit with Goff's strengths a la "spread O" (I know the Bear Raid is a little different but it still relies on horizontal spreading) and installed it, and it's just awful? QuoteSUretHing We don't even have the prospect of changing this mess in next year's draft. The Rams gave up far too much for a team with so many OTHER holes to fill. I don't like these trades generally, but at least if a team is already loaded with talent, it can work out sometimes. The proverbial "putting all your eggs in one basket" thing. QuoteSaguaro in the opposing team's defensive war room as they prepare for the Rams. I bet we'd hear some very uncomfortable truths about how to defend our team. From what I saw last night, the 9ers plan was: Concentrate on Gurley and Austin, nothing else is going to hurt us! No passes will be thrown deep or completed if they are. QuoteLMU93 I may be incorrect but I think the first play action pass they threw all night was around early 4th quarter when Keenum went deep right to Austin (who flubbed a good throw...). I think you're right. Also just guessing, but Fisher likely hopes that Gurley lights it up early and often so all those play-actions force the defense to bite.
