He is likely hurt... because he certainly has zero burst... none. Also he is not seeing holes well at all...where is his cut back?
Gurley is not playing well and it's CLEARLY NOT JUST THE OLINE, although that's part of it
Laram may have been right about Gurley... because I am seeing the things he called out from time to time for sure
Loved seeing the Rams win, and I feel funny being critical after such a win -- but . . . .
Yeah, I don't know if he's seeing the creases this season. The blocking hasn't been good, but I think it's a bit of a Both/And thing. He's not making good choices and the line isn't blowing anyone away.
I think it was Sunday before last that Cunningham seemed to be finding holes better than Gurley, and that surprised me. I wondered if the line blocked better for BC, or if he just saw the field better.
After this Sunday, I'm leaning toward Gurley having issues seeing the field, and not making the needed cut so the first defenders miss.
It's also my view that the Rams may have hurt Gurley's development in the mental aspect of the game. Just some dime store psychology here, but they basically anointed him the star of LA (before the season), and this may have gone to his head a bit. He's a very young second-year back -- just 22 -- and I'm not so sure he's ready to handle MVP status -- yet. Too soon.
Regardless, I think all of this is fixable -- for Gurley, the Rams and the O-line.
