Was that Jared Goff's performance was "Kurt Warneresque". Warner had a game against the Dolphins in which the Dolphins decided that their secondary (which was excellent) could match up with the Rams passing game, and so they went with a four-man pass rush and five DBs most of the game. With little pressure, Warner just carved the Dolphins apart. It didn't matter that the Dolphins hadby badgerdms - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn QuoteSUretHing When you are 30th in run D there will be culprits. Most pointed to Quinn or Ogletree. Then most were wrong. The run D went to the MIKE (AO) and NT. Anyone who thought the run D would improve simply by replacing Quinn would just be wrong. Besides, they upgraded MIKE (Littleton) and nose (Suh). They didn't upgrade OLB. They just went with what they had. Odd.by badgerdms - RamsFootballFans.com

Quotealyoshamucci The Great 1) Brandin Cooks ... that's what McVay wanted. You have to wonder what is the world the Patriots were thinking when they traded Cooks. I know their system has evolved to require receivers who are more quick than fast and who get open very quickly, but it sure looks like Cooks can do that and how many times has he been behind the entire defense in the first two gaby badgerdms - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGlyndwr71 Non-existant tonight. None even targetted, I think. And was Everett on the field at all? Good win, given the lack of preseason work and the rust. Just think what this O could be - especially in the red zone - with quality tight end play. They played the vast majority of the game with 1RB, 1TE, and 3WR sets. I've always been less than fond of PFF and their approach and if they know what they are actually watching. I'll use to my favorite adage from "Football Outsiders" (whom I much prefer to the PFF model) to make the point--"Teams don't run the ball to win, the run the ball because they are winning". I tend not to fixate on the picks but the mechanics of the draft. 1--If the Browns were going to take Mayfield anyway, they should have done it at #4 and taken Barkley at #1. The only team they had to actually worry about was the Jets and it would have been worth the risk. 2--Bruce Allen shows how much he sucks every year. It's a bad pick because he woould have been available later. The should have traded back again. Taking him in the 1st round was a poor move. Quotecool_hand_luke Personally, I love the Penny pick. QuoteHollywood Ram Imagine Landry would have been the pick. I'm thinking he presents the same basic problem as Quinn--good pass rusher who can't play the run. While a lot of folks had him mocked to us, I think he is too one dimentional for what we are looking for. 100% correct! QuoteRamBill Joe Curley@vcsjoecurley "I do think when you do get into the third/fourth round, I would be honest in saying it would be difficult (to tell) this player is better than this player. If you really watch NFL front offices they tend to be stronger drafting certain things than others. Check out the Steelers track record with WRs recently (no easy task). Even the vaunted Patriots can rarely draft a decent WR or RB, they are much better drafting lineman and linebackers. Drafting Jeffery would have possibly erased two problems--it would have given us an improved WR over Quick and it may have removed the incentive for the Bears to move up and just maybe we stay put and draft Wagner. But it always is easy looking back. Everybody now says "I wanted Jeffery while ignoring the massive, out of the league WR busts on either side of Quick and Jeffery". Early in the season before he got dinged up. Mostly his speed and hands more than his initial grasp of the offense. How fast he got down the field on the broken play against the Reskins, similar play against the Giant and same thing on the other side against the Colts (where he did a good job tracking the ball and bringing in the catch). TE's who can get down the field like that are pretty rarby badgerdms - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd bet against that. Centers usually slide a bit in my experience as a draft couch potato, but it only takes one team to fall in love. I don't think there is any way he goes in the 1st, and once you get into the late 2nd or early 3rd and round the concept of reach is nearly always silly--teams start drafting to fill holes. Not really trying to compete, but I tend to not be here as much as others so I try and be cogent when I post (not always successful at that). Could Everett be a bust? Absolutely. I don't think it's that simple. For one thing, you are assuming they are successful drafting BPA while having no idea what their board actually looks like. For another, I think it's really hard to compare how Snead worked with Fisher vs how he works with McVay. I assume that there is a bit of a collaborative effort taking place and that Snead and the scouts stack the board and then go to theby badgerdms - RamsFootballFans.com
If Everett doesn't end up being pretty darned good this year or next, then you can question the pick--but he showed plenty of flashes and has the potential to be a weapon.
