Won't go anywhere this year. Hope we get him back by week 10. Would save $5.4M if released in 2025 though.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, the addition make sense. Just feels like a player you'd sign 2-3 weeks from now. But who knows what the market is vs. how they view the TE draft class, etc.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

I think he has absolutely earned a spot back this year under a 2nd round RFA tender. I suspect he has not yet peaked and that the OL coach Wendell can get more from him, including with the benefit of having Avila next to him. But they can and should remain flexible that a high quality LT might fall to them at 19 or 52. Could happen.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they will want to add a 5th pick in the top 100 overall- and to end up with fewer picks in the final two rounds. Leverage those 5 late round picks into 3 higher up.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I just don't think big spending is required to take advantage of this window. A bigger factor at this point would drafting well again in 2024. They need pieces, no question. Most specifically at CB and Edge rusher. And maybe someone like Hunter could be brought in. They have flexibility in 2025 and 2026 to backload a deal with someone like him. I just think when you breakdown what this team nby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I never thought the Rams (nor is it showing that they could) be big free agent spenders. They have done a phenomenal job the past 13+ months reshaping the roster and getting financially healthy again. But when free agency hits, I don't expect* them to come fast out of the gates. They have already been productive in free agency by retaining Robinson, Dotson and tendering Jackson. Even after thby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
This is not the Draft to have (nor do the Rams need) 4 picks in the late 6th and 7th rounds. Hope they trade a couple to move up elsewhere or even for a player.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

They probably have a few more days to go either way. The Fowler report says "leaning toward original round tender ($3.116M), not officially decided." I'm sure they are gauging the market. But I agree, I'd tender at a higher, 2nd round level and be done with it. As they did with Darious Williams in 2021 (who actually got a 1st round tender that year).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he is the biggest difference maker of that group and at a premium position.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Smart... per Jeremy Fowler on Twitter.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Have to admit, I didn't think it was going to happen (which is of course why it did). I'll be curious to see the terms but with 2/3 of the money guaranteed it's likely a pretty good deal for all involved (Rams could likely easily move on in 2026 if they wanted).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They are in no rush and, historically, they like to do extensions like this around the start of training camp. Absolutely a guy they can and should keep long term.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
One of the centerpieces of their defense and a team leader. Hope he gets an extension through 2028. I think he will before or in training camp (perhaps coinciding with Noteboom's release).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I went to New Orleans in 2016 (Goff's 2nd career start) and people could not have been nicer. Thanked us for coming, asked if we were enjoying the city, etc. Several said the only team/fans Saints' fans truly dislike is the Falcons. That was pre-2018 NFCCG though... Have been to every Rams game at New England since that November 2001 game (plus 2008, preseason 2010 and 2016) and never had anyby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
And he may very well get some legit FA interest. But for where the Rams are going I think they'd take him back for more like $1.5M or so but that's it. He's a nice situational player but is not an every-down OLB.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think they'll put 2024 FA dollars into another WR. But they'll draft one. Their depth chart looks good for 2024- Kupp, Nakua, Robinson, Atwell, Skowronek. But 3 of those 5 will be UFA next offseason and Kupp will turn 32. So it absolutely makes sense to backfill and draft a WR that could potentially be their week 1 WR4 and develop into a bigger role for 2025. I doubt it's the 1stby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
RFK was a brutal place to go back then. Also '85 NFC championship game at Chicago. Fans at Soldier Field smelled blood in the water before kickoff.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Sorry, not disingenuous. Inaccurate from the standpoint I have seen many other posts and references to him rarely playing a full season when in fact he has in 4 of 7 years. I think he's on the back 9 of course. And part of drafting a WR in the top 3 rounds would be with an eye on protecting themselves if he is done sooner than later. But I think with the way he works and takes care of himselfby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They could release him before June and save $5M. They can use that money of course. Or... they could wait until after June 1st and save $15M- and use some of that toward Earnest Jones' contract extension in July/August.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Edge, CB, OT or WR. I think that's the focus (in no particular order) regardless of who they sign in FA. BPA among those 4 positions. Especially at CB where they could really use more than one. Also consider a minor trade back (to 22 with PHIL or 24 with DAL) to add another top-90 pick depending on how the top 18 shake out. I'm not drafting a center or guard in the top 20 (pretty muchby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
In 2017 he sat out the season finale because most all the starters were sat. And he missed the last game of 2020 because he was on the COVID list. So saying he's played every game only twice is a bit disingenuous. He has had 3 of 7 seasons disrupted by injuries. He is nearer the end than the beginning without question but this idea that he's some injury-riddled WR is really a stretch. Thaby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
