Good point. And also, without question, the Rams need Turner and Young to go to the next level in 2024 to help make up for Donald's absence. With them plus Jones at ILB they have a very good foundation. Hoecht is a nice depth piece but cannot be a full time player. Edge on that right side remains a need. But Donald of course creates a void no matter what. I even think Jonah Williams is a losby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Thought he was much more of a sure thing than Robinson, though maybe less of a perceived ceiling at the time. The guy has had a really good career in ATL and not slowing down yet.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think if Anchrum hadn't gone down two snaps into his first start in 2022 he would have developed into something more. Maybe he still does in SEA. Good guy by all accounts.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Torn ACL in November 2021 that had him miss most of 2022 because he decided to recover for longer (full year). Tore Achilles 4 weeks into 2023.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Most years you can count the number of legit quality backup QBs on one hand. JG will be among them. He had a terrible year with the Raiders but his previous 4 (2019-2022) he had a 100.2 QR rating and better than 2:1 TD to INT ratio in 47 starts in a very similar system. The signing was a no-brainer.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's unlikely but if by some chance Latu and Mitchell were both there at 19 what would you do?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Wanted to trade back to add another top 100 pick but didn't find any deals worth taking. So... other than not getting a CB until late I'd be pleased with this. 1/19- DT Byron Murphy, Texas 2/52- Adisa Isaac EDGE Penn State 3/83- Ricky Pearsall WR Florida 3/99- Cade Stover TE Ohio State 5/154- MarShawn Lloyd RB USC 5/155- Matt Goncalves OT Pittsburgh 6/196- Mohamed Kamara EDGE Colorby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They are also the top 4 defensive players in Rams history in Career Approximate Value, via Pro Football Reference. And it's not particularly close.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Newton after a trade back? Could be a direction they want to go more so they not only try and find a replacement for Donald but add a 5th pick in the top 99.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it's been Edge, CB, or possibly OT all along. Now of course you add DT as an option. Though it's probably only Murphy there as an option? Maybe Newton from Illinois if they traded back (which now could be more likely to try and add a 5th selection in the top 99.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Than 2 days ago. Focus on drafting and enhancing the Edge and CB spots while continuing to develop guys like Young and Turner and handing the defensive leadership reigns to Jones (who should be extended this summer). The safety from WAS today was a nice add. Obviously DT becomes a position to address and now has to be on the table at 19 or 52. But again I do think their general path ahead is theby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
But again, I think Snead and McVay knew about this or at minimum had a good idea it was coming earlier than we think. Sure, would be easier maybe if he had announced it in mid February. But it is also 3 days into FA and 6 weeks before the Draft. He is not by any means leaving the Rams high and dry. I was sure 2024 would be his last year. I knew he would never be a guy that limped to the finisby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If there is any talk of he is spoiled or selfish or anything else Im sorry but I think it is totally and completely off base. This is a guy that gave literally everything he had to the Rams franchise for 10 years and literally brought them a Super Bowl win along the way. He goes down as without question one of the top 2 or 3 players in the franchises 80 something year history. Maybe the best.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Need to then draft a center in the middle rounds.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought he was going to give it one more in 2024 and call it. Sad, sad day for us all. But what a delight to have watched his career and what he gave Rams fans. Easily one of the 3 best defensive players of the past 40+ years (w/ LT, Reggie White) and probably the best DT to ever play. DT officially on the table for 19 and 52 overall.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Simpson, Elemndorf, Cromwell, Johnnie Johnson, Newsome, Michael Stewart, later Lyle and Wright. I even liked Anthony Newman on those early '90s teams.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I will hold out hope that somehow either Arnold or Mitchell falls to 19. But Latu would make great sense there as well. Really, any of the five between them, Turner and Verse. I have to think one of those 5 players makes it to 19. I like DeJean but after a trade back to 22-25. Braswell or Darius Robinson in the 2nd would be great if they miss on an Edge guy at 19. Probably would have to moveby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Bruce, Lyle, Wright and Gandy with 4 of their first 5 picks. It's a shame Wright's career was so short but he was something else in 1995 and 1996...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
And a lot can change in the next 6 weeks.... but I would be crossing my fingers that one of either (CBs) Arnold, Mitchell or (Edge) Turner, Latu or Verse can make it to 19. And if not then I'd look to move back 3-6 spots and start looking at DeJean, Wiggins and McKinstry. And Edge guys like Darius Robinson and Chris Braswell early in the 2nd.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Very good player of course. 50.5 sacks and 13 FF the past 4 years. But his contract only runs through 2024 ($14.25M salary) and he turns 30 in September. So either (a) you don't give up that much for a guy you'll have for one year and that is crossing 30 or (b) you need to restructure.extend him. Maybe a possibility since the Rams really can't just take on a $14M+ salary?by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's a good 6th man and I think the Rams want to pay him accordingly. Maybe they can iron something out but if not I think he'll be released. Once Williams' details are known their cap space (minus what's allocated for draft picks) will be pretty minimal.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
...because he'd made like $52k in 1980 and was one of the 3-4 top QBs in the NFL that year. And he was summarily denied and shipped out to the CFL. I looked it up and $350k in early 1981 is equal to about $1.24M now. How the times have changed.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
There are too many OL-needy teams that would be glad to take him if it was an original RFA tender and there was no compensation. I don't know if he'll have suitors for a 2nd round pick but at least the Rams protect themselves somewhat here. I'm not yet convinced Jackson is their LT of the future but I am convinced he would be a solid piece for this OL in 2024. Beyond that, we'll see.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Has been a situational pas rusher for New England. Has only played 40+ snaps twice in his career. Was very good in 2022- 11.5 sacks in 15 games even though he only played 38% of their snaps. And he had a good start to 2023 their first five games before getting hurt week 6 vs. Raiders and then missing two games. Playing time declined when he came back and really didn't do much at all their finby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They still need to draft a CB. Would love to somehow get Mitchell to team with Williams... and then Tomlinson needs to develop noticeably. DW was as good a CB as any in the league in 2020. Somewhat down year in 2021 though he was a starter for the Super Bowl champs... He was very good in 2023 with 4 INT, 2 forced fumbles and 19 PD. He was PFF's 13th ranked CB (out of 127) last year.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
