I found it interesting that Special Teams Coach Joe DeCamillis commented on Riley Dixon having a similar skill set to Johnny Hekker. I took that at his holding skills combined with being a former High School QB. Again I believe Dixon will be the Punter come September whereas Dicker will be on the Practice Squad being that he can both punt & kick in case of injury or illness.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
Is there any other Starting QB around the league, not participating in team activities? I understand rotating, but completely shutting someone down is not a good sign IMHO.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDavid Deacon I am very skeptical of him being anything more than an emergency backup at WR. IMO, I think Powell can offer something in that area as a WR, but he's such a dynamic returner, he just needs to be serviceable in that are. Special Teams Coach Joe DeCamillis mentioned he was happy that Powell finally got a chance to showcase his talents. I believe Powell is here to stay.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteL.A.Rams ...worked together calling NFL games for CBS. One that I will never forget is Ferragamo to Waddy in Dallas in 1979. Wonder how George truly was feeling during that broadcast knowing he was fired just one year ago and some of his guys like Eddie Brown were still there.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe he can be an All Pro PR/KR and I also believe he offers enough at WR too. Last year as soon as Powell was added to the active roster the special Teams did a 180. Looking forward to the special teams really making a difference this year.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSoCalRAMatic Let's not get crazy. That Bears D was probably the greatest D of all time. Dent, Singletary, the Fridge. Very aggressive scheme. They were incredible. If we are 80 percent as good we'll win another Super Bowl. Sad part is the Rams 85 defense that year was awesome too. Greene, Wilcher & Gary Jeter. It's too bad Dieter Brock could not complete a slant pattern to Ron Broby den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 This is a rare situation where I 100% support it. Heck, shut Stafford down fully for 3 days once (or twice?) between now and the season opener if they want. Stafford will be ready to go mentally and dialing back his reps, adding off days, etc. is fully warranted this next 5 weeks. This is a by-product, without question, of playing 21 games last year and one of the many reasons it'sby den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotealyoshamucci Just Akers. Ragas could have some moments but he's not stronger than Akers. Next year that's a draft pick IMO. RB2 ... not slash back. I have guys in mind already. Who?by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
This is where Riley Dixon has a huge edge. He's held for two upper echelon kickers in Denver & New York, whereas Dicker has never held because he's always been a place kicker too. IMO as much as I love Dicker's leg, I see Dixon winning the job with Dicker on the practice squad for insurance next season for an extension with Matt Gay.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
One of Sean McVay's strongest asset is his ability to hire assistant coaches, I have been so impressed. Now Joe Barry is a good example. McVay passed on him twice as DC and Barry & McVay were very close. Barry had not had success in that role with the Lions & Washington so after Wade Phillips left, McVay went with Brandon Staley over Barry and then Raheem Morris. I wasn't quite 7 yet that year (September Birthday) but I remember my Dad calling out to me as the Rams are on preseason tonight. Watched it in my parent's bedroom on the portable black & white (aging myself) the big TV was for Mom & Sis that Saturday Night I believe. I remember listening that the Rams had traded Roman Gabriel and the balding dumpy John Hadl was now the Rams QB and theyby den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
Because he could have to options both at the NFL Level & the Collegiate Level. If he doesn't get an NFL gig I'm sure he'll have options in College too. Not sure what level he's looking to land in, but I'm sure Coen will have multiple options come next season maybe even at nearby UCLA.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
I was so happy with Barnes & Noble back then late 80's & 90's grabbing every magazine enjoying a fine Starbucks Dark Roast & Reading everyone of them on a early Saturday Morning. Lindy's Street & Smith to post a few, it was something always enjoyed the ones that included the rosters. Later on still did that for fantasy football too, but now those days are gone. QuotePSJRam Honestly... Don Coryell is the most deserving in my opinion. His passing game/system changed the game more than just about anything else in the past 50 years. I don't think he was an amazing coach, not sure he won many playoff games or any super bowls, but the roots of nearly every current NFL team's passing game strategy come from Coryell. QuoteCoy Bacon Just once one of the coaches or senior players said, "Boy that guy Jason Smith we drafted out of Baylor really sucks. He's slow, weak, and doesn't get it. We blew a draft pick on him. He'll be cut by the end of the week!" They did say that about Jason Smith back in 2009 and I adjust your post accordingly.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
I like most of it, but it's chalk not really going out on a limb with maybe the exception of Atwell filling a bigger role. It's easy to pencil in Shelton, but I do believe if Bruss can handle it, he will be the starter as the like Shelton as the 6 OL off the bench. I am not enamored with Robert Rochell as others I need to see more growth and until then Long is the leader in the clubhouse. Nickby den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay not only sits the starters, he sits the prominent backups so that's a plus. I just want to see certain people prove capable. AJ Jackson for example, his first year of preseason the game did not look too big for him and he held up well, that's what I am looking for. From Perkins I'm looking for a better deep ball, from the Punters, consistency. Overall, just some diamonds in the rough thby den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
Plus Amendola returned punts & kickoffs and you knew he was going to get hurt and did and thus the Rams 4 WR sets were with a TE. Egad, so glad those days are gone.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com

I liked the signing of Garcia as he reminded me a little of Sebastian Joseph-Day never giving up regardless of the score. Rice is a tough program, it focus more on the student then the athlete similar to Stanford & Notre Dame for example, but obviously on a lower level. Elijah Garcia battles and not only made plays for the Owls, but was disruptive as well. Also being that he played for Ricby den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com

I love Coach Vermeil and his wine (not his crying, but his actual red wine). My favorite Vermeil story involves Training Camp at Western Illinois University when they came out on the practices field to inform Coach Vermeil there was a Tornado Warning in the area and Vermeil responded by saying: "How long before it touches down?" QuoteRamgator When we play Tampa, I'm betting we do not fumble FOUR times and we win 38 to 14. I realize that was with NY Jets, but I concur, Tampa does not concern me. Most of my concern lies within the AFC.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
Keep in mind that the Vikings claimed Williams off waivers, then had to release him because failed the physical (Hernia). Rams claimed him back on the practice squad nursing him back to health. IMO, Williams makes the squad this year and sticks.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
Unless Evans has reinvented himself and comes into camp in better shape with the ability to pass protect better, I'm betting Arcuri offers more in the run game with the ability to never give up on a play.by den-the-coach - RamsFootballFans.com
