Which is bad for us, because we don't have the firepower to stay with the receiving threats that NY puts out there. Unfortunately I think the stage is set for Beckham to make himself an international superstar, courtesy of our porous defense. Here's hoping I'm wrong. Maybe they'll stick Donald at DE for more snaps and get the pressure they need to keep Eli down, we'll see.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
We all know Case isn't perfect. But he's 3-1 and overall going into last season has a nice starting record with this team. I think the guy's a backup, but he's our starter for now and is winning games and the offense is taking after him a bit, with a scrappy type of personality and it's nice to see. I think Goff is going to be outstanding in this league. And the way I see it, in all of thisby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He made a few real nice plays, to include some tackle stops that most DBs probably don't make. IMO this guy fixes a significant problem that Williams has been dealing with at CB, where he now has 3x guys who are legit starters in Tru, Gaines, and Joyner, and I have to think that sends this defense on a tear over the next few games as he starts to use it to his advantage.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
You don't pull a QB who is 3-1. And when you have a coach in year 5 of a 5 year deal it's understandable that he's going to err on the side he believes to be safe. If I were making the decisions Goff would have started day one. Period. I've posted before that I thought the dropoff from Keenum to him was minimal and I think that gap is smaller now. I would have tailored the offense to his sby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't believe you knuckleheads are gnashing your teeth and wailing about this situation. We have a QB who is 3-1 behind center and a young and very talented rookie who is only 21 years old behind him. How can you not be happy about that? If Case keeps winning, we're good. If not, there's a backup plan with huge upside.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
There were many owners that weren't sure which way the wind was blowing before all the information was laid out at that meeting where Stan blew them away. I think he's a trustworthy guy, with legitimate sources inside the league, vice a guy like Keyshawn for example lol. Funny how 3 straight wins have shut Keyshawn's "sources" up isn't it? Almost like he made it up or something.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
you will see that big production almost never happens, even among the greatest at the position. Look them up. It is one of the most difficult positions to play well because they need to be able to do different things to get on the field. Blocking, moving around for different formations with "hard" assignments of taking on DEs that can outweigh them by 30+ pounds, second level movinby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams_81 1) Put Robinson at Guard You can fix the guard problem by moving Robinson to Guard. Put him in position where there is less thinking. Than you don't have to keep a runningback or tight end in on his side for help at tackle as well. 2) If you do #1, you need a new left tackle. You need somebody reliable, not great. Stats don't mean everything but the Bills have the dominant run game we expected the Rams to have. And their defense has been near elite whereas ours has been non elite statistically. Their RB McCoy loves gashing our defense, he killed us with Dallas. They gotta shut him down. Offensively it is a huge matchup for our OL, their front seven is legit and Rex will dial up the heat. IMO thiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He played absolutely lights out in that game. Not only vs the pass but multiple outstanding run stops and tackles. Dude is an impact player in this defense and you just cannot overstate the value of his return. If he stays healthy and Tru continues the kind of play he showed last Sunday it is going to give Williams a LOT of flexibility to get all crazy. Really looking forward to how that plby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He was a bit late seeing the hole, he would've had the TD off the right side had he made that cut. This offense is really close to doing some good stuff.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Better than I thought he did upon a re-watch. Both vs the pass and against the run. Getting that dude back is beyond huge for this defense.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
there were some really nice play designs by Boras. Noteworthy example was the 3rd and 12 I believe it was, with Tavon in the backfield. I think Boras knew he could get some confusion there and it worked. Another was the third down throw to Tavon that they came up short on. The play design was on point man, it was there but Higbee whiffed on the DB who made the play. If and when he gets tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Fans crying about how he danced in the pocket, questioning whether he could still play, etc. Unfortunately the Rams agreed and made a terrible decision to trade him. It's not Gurley. He's just one guy, albeit a very talented one. Give the dude just a seam, a clear crease to bust through, and we'll see what he can do. Fans saying he's not making anyone miss are being unnecessarily criticaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I was thinking the same, that it's coming. Tomorrow Ryan and his cronies will be watching the film of those big plays changing the game, and they might not have the same "Stop Gurley or bust" mentality that AZ had going back to that loss Gurley gave them last year. Either way one thing's for sure: keep using that play action deep ball on early downs. Mix it up and if the Bills sitby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They stacked a coaching staff that knows offense and how to develop a young QB in the passing game and have a group that has put out 3x strong game plans for the kid to succeed. They also moved a veteran QB to make room for a guy who hadn't really done anything in preseason, which takes some serious cajones. I get that fans hate to credit other organizations, but Philly has done a great job rby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I do think some of it is teams knowing our tendencies, which is why we aren't seeing the Rams run game catching teams in stunts and odd fronts. But regardless if the OL and to a larger extent the skill guys would do a better job executing their blocks Gurley would be burning defenses already. What makes TGII so valuable is he doesn't need to be schemed heavily like we see with Tavon. He canby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Pretty sure USC made a run at him for that matter and that's what the spin was at least. I think he's outstanding of course, dude put on a clinic of beating teams with better talent at Boise, and when the Huskies got him my fear was he'd really show what he could do. Meh. So depressing.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
There's no way to know if it's Case having a tendency to lock on based on his pre-snap read and trying to force it in there. Wouldn't surprise me though and I'm sure at a minimum that's part of it. But even with that I believe the staff, starting from Fish, is pushing to get the ball into Tavon's hands and it's the wrong approach because he's not that type of receiver, the guy with the catchby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't expect the defense to be blown out, but I do expect our offense to struggle in AZ. 17 points sounds about right, I expect a close game with one of the Rams' TDs coming from defense or special teams. But their offense is probably going to do a bit better vs our defense. If the Rams pull this out it will be because our defense plays lights out. Hope it happens of course.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it is a fair comparison, and if Case continues to improve week to week he might well hold onto the job longer just like you pointed out with Warner. Definitely a correlation there in terms of the team wanting to start the veteran in order to win. If he doesn't continue to improve, however, then we're going to see Goff much earlier. I'm still on the week five train, it makes sense toby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
but just looking at the run defense alone the Rams are giving up 3.4 ypc vice 3.8 at this time last year. The defense does look better to my eye thus far, yes, although in last year's first three games our defense really showed up in that game 3 matchup vs Pittsburgh. Seemed to me last year they were worse in the RAC but again I didn't look it up. This year the problem is completions period,by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
if Gaines plays well in his return. Williams might feel more comfortable rolling the coverages up a bit tighter, at least I would hope, which in turn might help turn those pressures into sacks and turnovers.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The underachieving Cards at home at 1-2, angry and ready to right the sinking ship. The surprising 2-1 Rams, who are all but @#$%& being led to the slaughter. Vegas giving us big points all week. Put $100 on the Rams plus 9, because it seems like they always show up in the games everyone expects them to lose. Boy it would be nice to be 3-1, hopeful that's how it goes down.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think that's the only way we are going to win this game. Their defense vs our offense in their house is in their favor no matter how you slice it. Our strength is Gurley, who hasn't really gotten the seams he needs yet, so while I do think we can run the ball on AZ it won't be early on. Rams will need to weather that storm at the start defensively. Then hope the offense starts to get thby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The bad side of fandom is when they sour on a coach or team to the point where they can't see the good in anything. And that is prevalent on this board, really it has been now for some time and I find myself being depressed just by visiting sometimes. But then again I do understand it. is the way the Bucs just sat on that route as if they KNEW what it would be for that down/distance/formation. The dude looked like he was waiting for it. And the analyst mentioned that Tavon can't settle in there like that, but the only real option would have been for him to glide past the DB, while Case probably still would have thrown that ball. Put him out there and run heavy slants, some sluggos, and of course the endless assortment of short curls this offense favors. Quit making the dude block, just use him as a slot type wideout and get some production out of him now. He can go back to the inline blocking next year when he has another camp under his belt, what we need is the pass catching ability, the big target, and that's somethiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Some receivers have that ability to be fed the ball even when they're being focused on. And typically the skill set that allows for that is a combination of route running, making contested catches, and strength to avoid the jam. Spruce has those things.
