Reynolds was playing Woods spot with Woods in Kupp's position. Personally, I thought both were a significant downgrade.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Always a concern but less so for a player whose game is not dependent on speed. Havent had an ACL tear, but if he retains his lateral motion I think we are likely to see a 95%+ version of the Kupp. I'm more concerned about Gurley fwiw.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Practically, what the article tells someone building a team is that 1) A good pass rusher last year will likely be a good pass rusher this year. So, if I add a historically good pass rusher to my team the chances that he is a bust is less than a coverage player. 2) A good coverage player this year is harder to identify than a good pass rusher this year. Coverage players have more variancby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. How good the uglies need to be is debateable. Some analytics are suggesting that the difference between an average oline and good oline is minimal; while the difference between average and bad is massive. Interesting topic I've enjoyed learning about lately. Where to spend your limited salary cap dollars is so crucial for success.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I had Plantar fasciitis for a year or so. If you are not familiar it is serious pain. You can't run, jump, etc and walking is not fun. Every morning I felt great. Was on my feet most of the day and by the mid afternoon I was looking for the advil, or whatever I could find. Soon after I learned that Tim Duncan played playoff basketball with plantat fasciitis--utmost respect regardless of theby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
He played 66 total defensive snaps. 36 came in weeks 16 and 17. Christian was the primary third S with 350 snaps. Doesn't answer your question but gives some perspective.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Anyone think Long may start in passing situations on the boundary and they move Peters to a rover Safety position? Seems like that would really play to Peters' strengths. Just some personnel brainstorming...by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Rapp remind you of Archuleta at all? Physically maxed to his potential. Been thinking about that today. But Arch ran 4.41 and I couldnt find any Short Shuttle or 3 Cone times. Rapp looks thicker as well.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Welcome. Awesome to have you. Look forward to your posts.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Given the Seahawks lack of edge rushers and the productivity Shaquem Griffin had as a college pass rusher I wonder if the Seahawks are planning to utilize Griffin on the Edge more this season. The drafting of two lbs certainly doesn't help Griffin's cause at that position.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Many good points. But take Khalen Saunders--similar profile--good Senior Bowl, visit, etc. If Gaines went in the 3rd and Saunders was available in the 4th do they say the same thing. My point is there is a group of players. In this one scenario the guy was Gaines. Things play out differently could be others. He was available and the top of their list. They got him. But that doesnt tellby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Comes down to what guys are the best in man coverage. If they play zone I could see Rapp playing more since he will be somewhat protected, allowed to play to his strengths. But if they go man, versus 4 WRs I don't see Rapp in man coverage and Weddle is likely the better S on the roster. Safety is also a position Im not so sure you want to sub rookies into if you can avoid it. One mistakeby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. I doubt them on Gaines but believe them on Rapp if that helps you understand my point of view. Mostly based on the player but meh what the f do I know. Purely speculation. But kind of fun.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Has there ever been a time when the GM said "all the guys we wanted we gone so we settled on some blah player just to pick someone"? Would be very cautious about taking anything GMs and Coaches say after the draft as valuable or truthful.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
NT. Goal is to stop the run. 2 down player maybe, more like 1.5 downs in todays NFL. Teams win throwing the ball not by running. That's the reason QBs are so valuable. First round and second round draft picks should be on the positions that most help you win games. QB, WR, CB, S, Pass rusher, OT. Nose tackles are not that valuable in comparison. If you made a list of positions, prioriby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I dont think so. Rapp is likely Weddle's replacement. Would think we see Long play more this year than Rapp. Some spot play in certain situations but I don't think its likely Rapp makes the field on 3rd and 10 versus the Chiefs, Whiners, whatever.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with your thoughts. But in regards to CHJ he played 3 years on a @#$%& team. And I'm a Gator Alum. He was all out effort, sold out effort wise. He played a bit out of control but aggressive. Something I would definitely take as a coach. Great athlete, plays hard, experienced, versatile. He must be a total @#$%&. Idk.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Butler is inability to separate from coverage.Wins mostly contested catches. No idea on Chauncey--would love to knowby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm pretty sure the offense was plenty dynamic enough to win. The QB was the problem in the Super Bowl. And not picking up stunts. What I think the addition of Henderson and the talk of utilizing more personnel groups means is that they want to create more personnel mismatches. In 11 personnel the idea is we will beat you running and passing because our players are better than you at both.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Watched the interview with McVay where he mentioned Matthews can play the spinner position. I did not know what that was and did some research. Wanted to share in case anyone else did not know. Essentially, the spinner position is a stand-up, moving around pass rusher.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
An extremely impressive draft for the Cardinals. They take the 2nd best QB prospect in the last two years. The best CB in the draft, Byron Murphy, to pair with Patrick Peterson and Buddha Baker. Then they give Kyler the best slot WR in the draft in Andy Isabella then grab another big WR in Hakeem Butler. A good start but likely not enough with their OL issues. But the year 1 rebuild isby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe David Long is the future covering small, quick Wrs. My expectation is when teams go isolation Long will be the one assigned to cover the Kamaras and Edelmans of the NFL. He is prefectly suited for this task. My favorite pick. Well, until Rapp proves otherwise.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
When I think about the best way to utilize Rapp, I think Derwin James last year. You think he can do what Derwin did?by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
How do you see him being used in different situations? Like First and Ten--boundary side, short? 3rd and Ten--Rover? Deep? Man up on TE? All? Thanksby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
With Gurley unreliable I think the team is trying to ensure we don't have to hit the waiver wire for starting rb in week 15 again.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Got to think he switches roles with JJ3. JJ3 to deep and Rapp to Rover/Strong.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
He's explosive but not fast. Smart but not overly instinctive. He hits and is discplined. Rover role seems his future. Could see him in the Barron role in passing situations. Would like to see more of him blitzing.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
There is no way Rapp can run with Kamara. I doubt we ever see Rapp in man coverage. This pick leads me to believe Rapp takes over the SSish role JJ3 has played and JJ3 gets moved to deep safety(LaMarcus' old role).by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
