The #1 yardage and scoring defense is certainly an incredible accomplishment but it doesn't happen in a vacuum. The Rams had the #14 overall offense. They produced the #11th most yards and #3 most plays. While not great, THE OFFENSE WAS A FACTOR, to the overall time of possession which helps the defense. I realize that if you want to simply fortify your position, you can point out that they weby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
This is Russ seen through the Goff lense. He had little running game, his receivers were covered, and he was pressured and sacked multiple times. Yet it is somehow Wilson's fault. How easily they forget how good he was on the two TD passes. But if you're looking only for his errors, you will find them.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Wouldn't it actually make it harder to hire a minority GM if you have to give up draft capital to get him? It would make more sense if the team that hires one get extra comp picks, not be penalized.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks 43 for posting this. I hadn't seen it and I hope he's right. The only caveat is that they stomped a good Titans team late in the year and that gives me pause. I'm glad me made it this far but this team never lets me exhale.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- :spintounge Good stuff thanks ..... Although my title is a bit tongue and cheek, there is a lot to it..... Green Bay is NOT a good second half team Reason I say this is because I had Rodgers this year on one of my bigger money leagues and he was good enough to get me to the final four thank you, but he would always start off every game hot and then the second half cameby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotenapoli He was good to play. wth was McVay thinking calling running plays for #9 KNOWING Goff has screws and a broken thumb? Goff bailed out McVay last week and proved he should be the starter vs GB I agree. Wolford threw exactly ONE good pass to Kupp in the middle of the field. The one to Kupp on the left sideline should have been picked. For the life of me, I don't understand howby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
When I dissect this game, I listen first and post later. The analyst I trust is a former QB who was there when McVay and LaFluer were together in the first year of the Rams resurgence. When Dan Orlovsky says the Rams got away from disguising different options with the same play structure, he is correct. What he doesn't say is that it stopped working because defenses figured out the options forby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Orlovsky was a Ram when both McVay and LaFluer were coaching the Rams their first year. If there is any media analyst that has real cred, it's him.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd feel better about it if the Pack hadn't throttled the Titans late in the season. They WILL load the box and force the QB to win. Still, McVay can't abandon the run like he got away with vs Tampa. The Packers will test this defense because they are balanced. We have to score over 25 and that's a tall order. Must win the turnover battle. There is no outcome that would shock me.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamgator I hope so. I'm personally sick of Aikman. All he did was talk about Wolford when Akers was carrying the offense in the game. Wolford had exactly one good pass and Aikman said he was settling in. I'm very happy to have a different crew for this next game.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Wolford threw exactly one good pass to Kupp in the middle of the field and was lucky not to get picked on the other pass to Kupp on the sideline. He threw behind a wide open Woods. His runs weren't effective. Yet Aikman was talking like Wolford was settling into a groove? No, Akers was battling into a groove. The best thing our QB's did was get the ball to Akers and not turn it over. McVaby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAtlantic Ram One thing I never understood is coaching salaries. There is no cap on catching salaries... so why not pay the man? Even if it is just for one more year to groom a successor. Anyway, I think he is gone. He looks the part and made a Wade Phillips defense considerably better. Every game moving forward his chances of becoming a HC rise. One thing... That article flies in the face of many who are writing off Jared. The offense as a whole has issues and Goff had his share of errors to be sure. I'm really not certain how much confidence McVay has in Goff but I hope it's in line with this article.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

Do you believe McVay has real confidence in Goff? I'm beginning to question it for the first time. Yes. I also don't believe he would bs his players. Players always say they just want honesty from a coach. You lose players without that. ... Quotezn Quotestlramz I dont doubt that McVay told Goff he had to make a decision early but I don't like Goff basically implying he is now good to go while his coach just sat at the same table and said we will evaluate it going forward Players want to play. With Whitworth returning, the run game has a better chance of succeeding for both QB's. I'm certain the gameplan will center on that dynamic. Both will be prepped to run the offense in ways that enhance their skills. As usual, success will depend on execution as there won't be many wrinkles the Hawks won't anticipate. On a different topic, I'm expecting the ST will finally activate Hekker as aby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

I appreciate the perspective and logic of this post so I will participate. On McVay, he has tried to expand the offense and the offense as a whole has struggled to adapt. At first, he was repping everyone with 11 personnel/zone blocking and adjustments based on the defense. Over time, defenses have learned more counters so changing the approach was imperative.
