Quotewaterfield I was actually asking VanRam. I think he did it on his own. But if he was "ordered" to do it that would be an interesting story-one that got a HC in a lot of trouble (i.e. Payton). So my question remains-who ordered the hit on Higbee. And by "ordered" I mean take him out of the game by taking his knee out. Or was the word "ordered" just hyperbole. Yup. No question that Flores burned his bridges.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam I have no idea what you're watching, but he's a terrible blocker. Half hearted and has no technique. Not saying OBJ can block like Woods or Kupp. Few can. Just saying that OBJ is not a liability in blocking.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 KC obviously, in hindsight, should have kicked that FG right before halftime to go up 24-10. In the 2nd half they ran the ball effectively (10 carries for 59 yards) but didn't stick with it and insisted on dropping Mahomes back to pass against 8 man coverages. That's why he was sitting there running around for 8-10 seconds. You just said a mouthful, 93. Hard to understand Reidby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Question is whether Rams can afford them? Or even one of them?by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Actually, OBJ has been blocking quite well.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram The cap is going up from $182.5M to $208M, an increase of $25.5M. And all the dead money for Goff ($24.7M) and Gurley ($8.4M) come off the books after this year. Another $33.1M. So, yeah, the Rams' cap position improves by $58.6M from 2021 to 2022. But those 6 salaries I mentioned add over $73M to the cap, an net loss of around $14.4M in cap space from '21 to '22. QuoteThe_Zone He may be concerned he will get punched in the head by Arians if he messes up on a read. LOL In all reality, I like Goff, he's a great young man and a good QB. I think if given the weapons the Bucs have had, he would do well. but with that said, Brady is retiring, Gronk is retiring, and they have a lot of Free agents. It will not be the same Bucs team as it was this season.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote21Dog I loved how the officials let the players play Sunday. Gotta disagree, Dog. Letting them play is one thing and fine by me. But letting them get away with bounty like clearly illegal and dangerous hits? Emphasis dangerous? Nope. That’s where I draw the line. Both players will surely be getting an envelope from the NFL Office for their transgressions.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM He was asked a question kind of related to this... can't remember the question precisely but something like "Does Stafford actually like duress, the challenge, being hit fires him up"... Again, that wasn't the exact question but it was something like that. Kupp replied with a smile and said no, he was pretty sure Stafford doesn't 'like' being hit. :laughing I thinkby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
I don’t think McVay is above criticism. I’ve done so, myself. But Dang! This piece seems to have a decidedly negative edge to it not unlike many political op-eds.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteThirtymac, The Intrepid Ram said it is higher likelihood that SB is last game that it isn’t. If he leaves, it aids in the cap issues discussed in previous thread. I’ve seen that interview on YouTube. It’s a terrific interview. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to copy and paste it. Perhaps one of our more technically accomplished posters could do the honors?by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGlacieRam I'm of the opinion that this continuous activity of cheap shots was condoned or even "sanctioned" or encouraged by the Niner coaching staff. It went on all game, and I sure didn't get the impression that the Niners coaches were trying to discourage it. I think that they knew the officials were gonna hold onto the flags and "let the players play" so they encourby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM I'm viewing it a little differently... I'm using the word 'surprised' in regards to Blanton in that I expected solid play from Akers, Gaines, Scott.... but Blanton I knew nothing about. That Gaines and Scott have exceeded my expectations is certainly surprising. I guess I was more up to speed on Blanton. Back in camp I advocated for keeping Blanton at the expense of Hopkins,by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Can you imagine how happy he is to be able to partake of this exciting adventure? Right place, right time kinda thing.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGlacieRam Really don't care to see Henderson getting any playing time after being out. Akers and Michel need to get lathered up so to speak. If Hendy is healthy I think he should be active. We don’t want a repeat of that TE shortage problem when Higbee got hurt early. However, I do agree that Akers and Michel should get the snaps barring injury.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM As do all those you mention :laughing , but Blanton has surprised me the most. He's been clutch, for one thing, even though his total targets are few... but also McVay/Staffords seemingly full trust in using him even in those critical situations. Like everyone here I'm praying Higbee can play in the SB... but Blanton has certainly eased my concern about our TE situation if he can'tby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBigGame81 I just don't see it. Really, nobody has had an answer. Kupp hasn’t really been shut down through 20 games, has he? Bengals will have their hands full. But so will Whit and Hav.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCROMWELL21 Spent all morning looking for this in the vast recesses of my old brain. Reminiscent of Kupp's drop in the end zone his rookie year 10/8/17 that would have potentially tied the game. Off his fingertips. I think Skowronek will be part of this offense for a long time. Something about him playing so much as a rookie. I get the feeling McVay really likes him. May not havby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Some are big names, others were lightly regarded reserves. Let’s see… Offense Matthew Stafford. Yes, we all expected much from him but I think he’s exceeded even those high hopes, especially in these playoffs. No hero ball, just been lethal. Cam Akers. I included Cam because nobody expected to see him until ‘22. Yet here he is making significant contributions in the playoffs. Amazing.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s Mackeyser… Couple things. 1) I'm so thrilled the 9ers went and spent THREE 1st rounders on Trey Lance. Why? We don't know what Lance could be, right? Well, they now have NO ammo for ARod, NO ammo for Wilson (not that the Seahawks would ever do that) and most importantly NO ammo for Watson. So after they got so close with Jimmy G, they have to ride with Lance now. NO SAVIOR IS COMING!by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s OldSchool… Yeah Scott has been amazing! I was saying on another board that our starting safeties last night were a guy retired for 2 years and a 7th round pick that before the last few weeks was a career ST guy. So awesome to see him step up. Still not sure why Morris keeps misusing Rapp but it is what it is.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Here’s MachS… Nick Scott has been balling. His last 3 playoff games is the best safety play we've had all year IMO. He's been better than Fuller. All season long Fuller maybe flashed two times, Scott has made like 5 huge plays in the last 3 weeks. Its incredible. Also no coincidence the defense got better once Rapp went down too. I think we start Scott at FS and Weddle at SS for the Super Bby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
