In three of their five losses they only scored ten points. They had a total break down. In one loss they had only 20 - not a total breakdown, but not firing all cylinders. Somehow the Dolphins beat them 34-33. So there's also a possibility for the Rams to go toe to toe and win a shootout.by EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
Instead of yammering on endlessly about the "controversy" aspect of this, why doesn't somebody actually breakdown the play and say, "OK, here's how and why this happened." They can still say it should have been called, but at least acknowledge that it was (apparently), an excellent diagnosis by NRC that ended with maybe not perfect execution. It would at least give some perspeby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com

Listen to his comments about NRC. LOL! :lol :lol3 And since the GMFB crew has a football legend on their show they aren't going to argue with him, so they are kind of forced to roll with it. Except Burleson, who actually agrees. :ROTFby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com

There's a big spread between the points the Patriots scored when they won and the points they scored when the lost. It's about 16 points on average, but since averages are kinda "squishy" think of it as a 3-4 touchdown difference between when they win and when they lose. That's a big spread. It means that opponents who beat them mostly shut them down. In winning their two playoff gamby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
OK, the answer is "yes." But maybe not quite what you meant. He got beat. That's where his technique may stink (I don't know anything about playing DB, so what do I know?). But after he got beat, maybe his play was a lot more "heady" than we all think. He came barrelling in, perhaps figuring that he's gotta do something and that's all he's got left at the distance he was atby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBigGame81 4.) Don't kick it deep. Let Natson return KO's. I absolutely think they are going to try and kick every kickoff within the 5-10 yard markers. They are going to bet that Natson coughs one up eventually. I always hold my breath when he runs it out. He's tiny, he has fumbled before, and he isn't a homerun hitter with returns, either. I was perusing the Patriots' record, and I noticed something interesting. Here are their point totals for games they won (respectively): 27, 38, 38, 43, 38, 25, 31, 27, 24, 24, 38 That works out to... ... an average of 32.09 points per game ... and a median value of 31 points ... and a mode value of 38 points ... and a range of 11 Here are the point totals for games they lost (respectiby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's pretend you had all kinds of time to kill (I know, many of us are busy). List which five games from this year's regular season and/or playoffs you would rewatch before Super Bowl LIII. They could be any game, but I'm guessing most of you would pick either Rams games or Patriots games (ya know, for enemy intel). You don't need to list them in any kind of order, just five you would re-watcby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
The Patriots have never lost a Super Bowl in which they played as the "away" team. (Edit: That is, in the Belichick era. The Parcells Patriots lost as the away team in SB31 to the Green Bay Packers)by EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
Not long after the game, I posted this: There was some reaction to the effect of: "Gee, the speaker just didn't work. It's nothing more than that." Uh-huh. Also, it was telling that the Saints radio announcer delusionally talked about the non-call "ending" the game right there. Uh, dude, you just kicked a go-ahead field goal!! All you gotta do is stop the Rams from scoring. But they couldn't. And the very fact that he thought that call "ended" the game shows you just how ridiculously insecure the Saints fans really were goiby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
Without being inside the guy's head, there's no way of really knowing whether or not he was intentionally "coasting" during the regular season. I would think the truth is something similar to what Mangini said last week on First Things First (I think that was the show). QuotePeoriaRa But my main point is that given the huge amount of attention given to an uncalled penalty in the Saints game, the NFL may decide to instruct their officials to call defensive holding and PI more closely in the SB. I don't see how they don't. The narrative they are telling themselves in their own heads is bad news for them. Almost to a man (maybe except Brees), their interviews express that they got robbed. They deserved to win. It belonged to them and it was unfairly taken from them. There is very little talk about how after they kicked the field goal to go up 23-20 they could have stopped the Rams by just manning up on defense. Therby EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
Drivng in/around downtown Atlanta for any reason is awful. And I've been past that new MB stadium. There's not anywhere near enough parking by it. Lots of construction mess still nearby. Goodell's logic is beyond me. I guess in a loose way of speaking, a bad call could be spoken of as a "missed" call. But technically he didn't miss anything. He definitvely decided it was not PI. His reason was wrong, but he didn't just miss what happened. This is why these subjective penalties should not be reviewable. QuoteJYB I think the one rationale missing from your list is the actual culprit -- the idea that the refs "let them play" in the playoffs. I got some great giggles out of watching and hearing all the Saints players embarrass themselves with their pouty, 3-year-old commentary. But I started to get mad with Berman and Jackson joining in. Someone was looking for a nickname for Goff. I'm no good at that kind of thing, but I kind of like "Doctor" Goff, "The Doctor" or maybe even "Doc" Goff for fun. His ability to diagnose the situation and make surgical strikes makes the name fit, if you ask me.by EternalHorns - RamsFootballFans.com
