QuoteRams43 Nice post, PSJ. Know what? I'm just not gonna worry about which players they can and cannot extend. At least not tonight. I'm gonna savor this Watkins trade just a little bit more. . Thanks, Rams43. It's funny, I made a short message in another post that I wish I was able to just enjoy the signing and stop looking how it may alter future signings for the Rams. Not sure worried is the feeling. Anxious to avoid failure is more what I'm thinking. I don't want a bad precedent set for the first string offense tonight. I don't have huge expectations just yet. Remember, it is a 2nd year QB in a 2nd system with a revamped OL and nearly all new WR & TE. I just don't want the ball turned over and I'd like to see Goff complete a couple passes where theby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteNorCalRamFan The Rams need draft picks and can put off tagging AD for another season but if they plan on retaining Watkins, can they afford to extend AD as well? Funny, I just put a post very similar to this up. I sure wish I could just enjoy the addition of Watkins to the team instead of wondering how it alters the future of the team.by PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
With the signing of Sammy Watkins, assuming he can stay healthy, Goff has a #1 WR. That said, the other rookie and first-year WRs and TEs need to prove they can: Catch the ball, run good routes, make adjustments to routes, etc. Even a healthy Watkins can't do it all on his own. But... if these things come together then the only remaining excuse Goff has for lack of success is that he's in his firby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRockRam Really like Engram. Like him better than Njoku. The thing is, Engram played a lot of football and has a large body of work. Njoku didn't. Yeah, he has nice size, good speed and good athleticism. But you take Njoku as believing in his potential. Engram has the tape and is your fantasy match-up nightmare (low 4.4's speed). QuoteDeadpool According to the chart I'm looking at, trading from 5th in the 2nd round to 17th in round 2 is a difference of 120 points. The 17th pick in the 3rd is 113 and 17th in the 7th round is 7. So You would get a 3rd and maybe a 7th. - Hard to argue the pure numbers. The thing is, I think the 5th pick in the 2nd round may have a specific player that a team is willing to give up a littlby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams43 Edit: I'm kinda reluctant to spend a premium pick on Sidney Jones after his injury. Not because I resent having to wait a year to see him on the field. Rather, because serious Achilles injuries can rob a person (much less an NFL player) of full return of former explosion in movement. It's possible that Jones may never regain his former elite CB status. I mean, very very possible. Too manyby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not claiming to be a draft "guru" by any means, but I'm curious to know who agrees and disagrees with my thoughts about the combination of available players and team needs for this year's draft. My scenario may not be 100% realistic, but it's reasonable. I did several mock drafts so see how trade backs worked out and who would be available after trade backs. One really never knows aby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I love CB Corn Elder in the 5th round as a new slot CB. The guy is a little small to play on outside but he had solid cover skills and he thinks/plays bigger than he is. I think he would start in the slot right away and the other guys can battle for the outside positions. This assumes Joyner really moving to FS.by PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn QuotePSJRamTA is being paid like a top WR I agree with a lot of your suggestions on how to use him. Fact is, though, he's not really being paid like a top WR. Going by average amount per year, TA is in the 10.5 M range. That's 2nd tier. The top 5. WRs are in the (on avg.) 14 M or more a year range. The top 10 avg. around 13 M. The kid is making huge money and the money is all based upon potential. So, let's use him in several different ways for the next couple of years and see if potential turns to reality, or not. 1 - TA needs to be BOTH the punt and kick returner. Yep, he's small, but he still has the potential to take the ball to the "house" like no other player on this team. If he gets hurt on a returby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Nope. Unless a top 3 receiver falls to 2nd round they can pick up a mismatch type TE at 37 and grab JuJu, Krup, Godwin or Hanson (all pretty much the same guy) in the 3rd. If they trade back a bit on one or both early round picks they may be able to grab a CB or FS in the first 3 rounds.by PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't disagree. In this scenario, I was offered continued trade back options and that landed extra nice picks while still allowing me to target some guys I was confident would help the team. I can only play the game the way the computer lets me. But, I'd be pretty darned happy if the draft did fall this way (LOL).by PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
So... I love the NFL Draft Game Site. I'll probably do 20 more drafts before the real draft. I, for one, feel that this draft is extremely deep in WR, CB and OG. This allowed me to trade back several times to pick up additional picks while still knowing I'd be able to draft one, of two or 3 players that I saw as being very similar in talent. The additional picks also allowed me to pick at cerby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I know there are rules about interviewing only for upward mobility as certain points of the season and I doubt either would look to leave their current OC positions to be the OC with the rams. But, is it possible to get both of these bright young minds with Shanny as HC and McVay as Asst HC/OC, and still be within the rules? Is there a way to increase McVays influence beyond that of an OC but leby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd like to see GW stick around. This defensive squad is built around his "non-traditional" type of defense. Mark Barron is the perfect example. That said, I think only a HC that was already a HC and has some "gravitas" would retain Williams. A young guy without previous head coaching experience may be intimidated by someone like Williams who's been there and done that. Willby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- Oh yeah... it's turftime, should have known. Was this supposed to be a 5-0 team right now??? It's not about 3-2. It's about 30-38 (overall record as Rams HC) It's about 172-158 (overall record as NFL HC) I believe Fish has made this a better team. I also believe this is likely what we can expect to see from the team for as long as he remains the HC (6-10 to 10-6). Iby PSJRam - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteGreatRamNTheSky QuoteRockRam Sunday is D-Day for me as concerns the Rams. Right now, I'm not at all ready to jump on the bandwagon. Quotemax Fisher may just continue flip flopping Goff and Mannion. Then it will be pot luck as to when Goff sees the field. Just imagine if Mannion replaces Keenum for some reason, and Mannion plays well. Goff may never see the field. I don't think so...
